Chaura, un fruto nativo de la #Patagonia Las Chauras son un arbusto siempreverde que produce un fruto similar a una manzana en miniatura. Dentro de la familia de las Chauras, puedes encontrar la Chaura común (Gaultheria phillyreifolia) y la mucronata (Gaultheria mucronata) en la zona austral del país. De hojas simples con bordes aserrados, las Chauras florecen entre diciembre y febrero. Sus flores son pequeñas y acampanadas. Cuando dan frutos, se abastecen de pequeños racimos de bayas que por su forma parecen manzanas en miniatura y, sí, también se pueden comer. ¿Las has probado?
