Ladies Day Out
Women, shopping, and free drinks. A local woman brought these three ingredients together to create Sip & Shop, Sunday at Club Vada.
But what is Sip & Shop?
Chaz Jestes created the event to bring together entrepreneurs looking to provide services for women and allows them to not only attract new clientele, but also to network together.
Two birds. One stone. Boom. Pow.
The first event being this past July, Jestes plans to have the event once every season (summer, fall, winter, spring) and anticipates growth for future events.
“Last time I had my own table,” Jestes says, “but this time actually walking around trying to critique what I need to do differently.”
Shopping may be the namesake for the event, but there were a few vendors who wanted to share much more with women of the Greater Cleveland, and surrounding, area.
Agape Orchid, a domestic violence and sex trafficking awareness organization, and a fitness program, MyFit, were among the vendors looking to enhance inner beauty while the rest enhanced outer beauty.
MyFit creator Sabrina Parr created the program out of the understanding that many people do not have easily accessible resources for health and exercise. The diet system and exercise regimen she creates for clients is tailored to the resources already acquired.
The Collinwood High School alum ran track and her team won the state championship twice.
“Our opponents assumed we had the best coaches, a nice workout facility, the best track and that’s why we were so good,” Parr says.
Truth be told, that Collinwood team had half a weightroom, no trainer, no track, and a coach who never even ran track, according to Parr.
“We utilized what we had to be the best,” Parr continues. “I don’t want anyone to feel limited, like they have to have a personal trainer, they have to shop at Whole Foods or have a million dollars to look and feel the way they would like.”
