The Final Girl
congrats, you're the one who makes it to the end. your instincts, paranoia, and/or pure fucking stubbornness guide you every bloody step of the way. when the dawn finally breaks, you're the last one left standing. sure, it cost you friends and loved ones and you're going to have one hell of a therapy bill, but at least you're alive.
note: This is half right. She would be the final girl, but i don't think Tachanka would die tbh.
The Killer
oh, you're the one doing all the killing. you're the violent little guy with a chip on your shoulder, the undead nightmare with a mind only for revenge, the unhinged psycho who just likes to inflict pain for fun. either way, you're the catalyst of this whole narrative, the lynchpin on which the entire plot rests. you either die in the end or live on through numerous sequels, prequels, reboots, and spinoffs.
note: I mean yeah.
The Whore
sure, sex is pleasurable and fun, but do you really think doing the nasty in the middle of a haunted house is smart? there's a murderer out there and you're taking off your clothes which is REALLY ill-advised. you could get tetanus! you seem to be under the impression that you're in a romcom or softcore porno, not a horror movie, and that's a lethal mistake to make.
note: HIMIKO IS A VIRGIN. WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT 🤣
The Tragic Hero
you are the good guy who just cannot catch a break. your life just fucking sucks, frankly. one day, you have friends, family, hobbies you enjoy, maybe even a dog. and then, something happens that sets off this never-ending chain reaction of bullshit and it all gets swept away from you in a heartbeat. all your friends are dead now and you might be alive but god at what cost.
Thank you to @i-am-the-balancing-point for creating this fun little exchange 💕
“You did all this for me?”
Veronica takes in the scene in front of her. John had gone out of his way, or had made one of his chosen go out of their way, to prepare a picnic for the two of them; one more extravagant than she had ever seen before.
Lying before her is a charcuterie board, a bottle of wine, and a bouquet of daisies just for her. The Baptist may be a lot of things, but he understands that romance is an art and today he has gone all out.
“What? You don’t like it?,” John asks her, a hand coming up to cup her cheek. “Because I’m pretty sure I can find other ways to -”
“I love it!,” Veronica interrupts, beaming up at him. She can tell there’s a part of him that feels insecure about the outing; a part of him that wants to feel wanted, to feel needed.
“It’s just, you didn’t have to do all of this for me. A night out at The Spread Eagle would have been enough for me, John.”
“I know,” he replies quietly. “I just wanted to show you how much I appreciate you.”
John’s blue eyes shine down at her, gleaming with sincerity and something else she can’t quite put her finger on; it makes her heart swell.
Standing up on her tip-toes, Veronica places a chaste kiss to his lips before moving around him. “Come on,” she says, tugging on his hand to follow her. “There’s a cheese board calling my name.”
John rolls his eyes, but still allows the blonde to pull him towards the blanket laid down delicately just for them. “You know, I don’t usually do this,” he says as he sits down next to her, his arm going around her waist.
Veronica sighs, snuggling back into the Baptist. She feels lucky that she gets to see this side of him, a side he rarely shows to others. How did they ever get here?
“I know,” she responds, closing her eyes contentedly. “I know you don’t.”
3. What’s one skill your character really wishes they had?
Piper would love to be able to tell when people are lying or have ill intentions, she's been screwed over by a lot of people in the past and it frustrates her that she keeps getting so easily tricked. She's even watched videos on body language give aways and the like and even with that she can't seem to catch most of it or misinterpret's it.
11. What was something they struggled with greatly and how did they overcome it?
She's struggled with a few things in her life, one of the things she actually managed to overcome was her anger issues that she developed during her teenage years while she was in foster care. When she and Cas moved to Hope County she sought out counselling for it due to Cas' request and she learnt a lot of strategies to redirect and control her anger better. One of the giveaways that she's calming herself down is when she gets out her casette player and headphones and just lays down somewhere to listen to her music.
28. When your character was younger, how did they picture themselves growing up? Does it differ from how they really turned out?
When Piper was younger she thought she'd grow up to be someone important, someone that helped her community and everyone always had nice things to say about. (She actually really wanted to be a firefighter at one point because they lived near a fire station) She doesn't really think she got there, she sees herself as selfish and can't really imagine anyone having many good opinions of her. Despite that people who know her see she has a good heart and takes any excuse to help people, even if it's under the guise of doing it for a price.
36. Tattoos. Do they have any? Do they want any?
She doesn't have any tattoos but she'd like to get a tattoo of a wolf's paw as a little homage to Casper, she's sentimental like that. (I also think she'd get some sort of sun tattoo to represent Rachel, because no matter what she was the light in her life for a while)
43. What are they like when they’re drunk? Don’t be a prude and tell me they’ve never been smashed before.
Chaotic, an absolute maniac. When she gets drunk she gets hammered, she will stagger around and slur all her words and laugh and dance and sing obnoxiously loud even if there's no music playing. She gets extremely handsy too and will be all over strangers and friends, not inherently in a sexual way but if prompted she's happy to go to funky town almost anywhere. (Has she started getting undressed on a pool table before? Yes she has) She also very easily gets into fights when she's drunk and will try to fight dudes twice her size.
58. What’s their preferred method of fighting?
Stealth and from a distance, she's not weak but she is small in comparison to most people and this gives her a small disadvantage in hand to hand combat. She prefers to be as safe as possible and to be able to get it over with quickly too, being able to snipe from a far distance and stay out of sight makes her feel at least somewhat safe and in control.
66. If they were free to do anything, be it cruel, kind, or otherwise, without fear of repercussions, what is it that your character would do?
Burn the entire cult to the ground and get Rachel out of there, she doesn't even care if she kept contact or not after but she'd just want to get her old friend help (she's tried to help her in the past even if it wasn't successful she doesn't plan on giving up on her). Getting rid of Joseph and the rest of the cult would just be a bonus for her.
71. How is your character’s bedroom? Is it small, big, colourful, simple, messy, organised, filled with their things, shared…?
Okay so since Hope County has been the first proper home she's had she definitely was picky on how she decorated her room, which is actually an attic loft because she always thought those were cool. She has a single bed up against the wall, like right in the corner, and it's covered in a million pillows and a blue fleece blanket ontop of two other blankets. (And most importantly this giant teddy bear Casper won for her at her first carnival)
The walls are yellow and covered in band posters and probably some posters of her favourite actors/actresses. She has a small wooden closet on the opposite wall and it's covered in stickers and overflowing with her clothes. The floor has a small grey carpet but is usually covered by jackets and her shoes and the stray pillow that's been tossed off the bed in the middle of the night and forgotten about.
I also imagine she'd have fairy lights hanging on the walls and roof. And a small desk under the window and next to her bed; it'd have her laptop on it, her iPod and headphones, stray pieces of paper, sticky notes, candy wrappers and probably an empty beer bottle or soda can. So pretty messy and filled with a lot of things, she cleans up if she has a guest over promise.

DOMESTIC LIFE
i. if they get married, who proposes?
they do, and theirs is essentially a superfluous proposal, but the answer would be, insofar as one or the other broaches the topic in an official capacity, john. her response is more revealing; “are you not my husband? am i not your wife?” there was never truly a question.
the formality is more necessitated by the issue of lyra’s official status as a member of the seed family; there wasn’t a question of john and lyra’s personal relationship or the sanctioning of it. “i should hate to think we’ve been living in sin all this time,” she tells him, but it’s a joke; neither of them have ever considered themselves anything but brought together by god.
ii. what’s the wedding like? who attends?
they marry at the compound church in the evening with only joseph there to witness and officiate; it’s a formal welcoming into the family ( seed, not the project; she’s already a member of the flock in her own right ) more than anything else ( faith is more than slightly disgruntled that she hears about it after the fact ). the most extra pairing the county has ever seen have the most subdued official union to be had; not without good cause, from a practical standpoint, since an ostentatious ceremony would have effectively blown lyra’s cover with the civilians.
iii. how many kids do they have, if any? what are they like?
canonically, none; lyra is strongly opposed to it prior to the collapse — she would never want to have children whose first memories were of a bunker. in all probability, she would have been open to it in new eden had john lived to see it. as it stands, even without the undesirable seven-years-in-a-bunker bit, she’s hesitant around the prospect of children — she does not want to pass on a legacy of blood and pain and damnation. she is the monster who hunts the monsters, but she doesn’t know to reconcile that with motherhood; she is at ease with herself in the project, she’s happy, she has a sense of belonging and self-reconcilement, she has found her purpose, but she would never wish it on anyone else to be what she is. as it is, she never really has the chance to consider it; john is dead, and she never takes another lover. “i am no mother,” she tells poppy bellefleur before she dies. “i’m no shepherdess.”
however.
they do have children in their shared canon with deputy wes brooks, detailed here. because lyra is not the final great decider ( at least not directly ) or the world ender here, and instead is instrumental in averting the collapse ( meaning her judgement, insofar as it is applicable, is in favor of the world being worth saving instead of burning it down in rage and grief ) and emerges from the holy war in love, not ashes and blood, she sees herself, the world, and her place in it differently; she believes herself the most blessed among women — they’ve made their own new eden — and she’s comfortable bringing children into their world; in the passage where she decides this she watches her husbands and thinks to herself, “yes, i am monstrous, but i am also this. i am also love. i am also life.”
iv. do they have any pets?
they do, to john’s eternal chagrin; she brings home all of the fangs for hire, pronouncing that she has taken them out of resistance hands and delivered them into the hands of the project and, well, that shall simply have to do. they’re not her pets, and they don’t live with her, but she also works closely with jacob’s judge wolves.
v. who’s the stricter parent?
neither, as they have no children, but it would have been shaggy, bless him.
vi. who worries the most?
this is complicated by their extreme circumstances. while john is more likely to worry by nature — and lyra gives him plenty of reason to do so — but over the course of the holy war, it falls to lyra. she’s a much less anxious person by nature, and she would not have been a worried or lording parent ( which is what i assume the question’s intent, inapplicable here but a title that would have gone to john ), but because of joseph’s visions — he’s seen john’s death, never hers — she lives with the constant fear of losing him. she suffers from severe, physically crippling separation anxiety, unable to sleep without hearing him breathe or feeling his pulse, and was reduced to dry heaving in a fetal position the days she was stranded in fall’s end.
vii. who kills the bugs in the house?
lyra, when john is bothered by them.
viii. how do they celebrate holidays?
they have a little under a year together and the holy war consumes their final months, so they never really have the chance, but they would have spent them in bed or by the fire.
ix. who’s more likely to convince the other to come back to sleep in the morning?
lyra is up before dawn every morning, which means john is up before dawn every morning, much to his dismay. he can usually persuade her to come to bed after watching the sunrise, but she’s not letting either of them sleep.
x. who’s the better cook?
shaggy; lyra is competent, but that doesn’t mean she’s offering.
xi. who likes to dance?
lyra; she likes to put on her records and dance by herself with the windows thrown open. if they’re dancing together, it’s a stationary sway in front of the fire.

Two words for the wip guessing game ask meme: 'beer' and 'flowers' 💐💜
Let’s see what we have here! :D
____
Beer
---
He shook his head, and gave her a sheepish smile. “No, just need my truck.”
She stopped. This was Hurk’s truck. She’d sworn it was when she’d popped down from the roof to sit back and close her eyes for a bit. Had picked it out in the dark, because she knew this vehicle inside and out.
Or so she thought. Because after one quick look around, this had none of Hurk’s hallmarks. No patriotic paint job, no extra bandanas on the dash, and no mags tossed in the back - paper and otherwise. It didn’t even have the beer cans he’d shotgunned and tossed at the floorboards after their little victory lap.
---
Flowers
---
“The first blooms have started opening! I thought it would be another few days, or that it would happen closer to morning, but they’re here and they’re beautiful.”
Selena gasped. “The flowers from the field?”
“Yes,” the other woman said, almost bouncing in place as she reached for Selena’s hands. “The others have already seen them, but not you! You have to see them, there’s so many and once you get close enough to smell them you’ll never want to leave. Unless you’re needed here?”
