A lot of people have been asking me about different volunteering/traveling opportunities, so i decided to make you a little list, that will hopefully be helpful for all of you! I gathered some websites that I find very useful (all of them are free to use), and I organized them in three categories: volunteering, accommodation and travel, so here you go:
- https://www.workaway.info/ - a database for volunteering all around the world (mostly by people or independent programmes)
- https://www.volunteerforever.com/ - bigger organisations for volunteering, also teaching/internship opportunities
- https://europa.eu/youth/volunteering_en - the European volunteering database (activities not only in Europe!), also working/internship/exchange opportunities
- https://www.goabroad.com/ - this is literally for everything - jobs, volunteering, gap year, studying, anything you want
- http://abroadship.org/ - mostly exchange and studying opportunities
- https://www.abroadly.com/ - volunteering/teaching/internships
- https://www.airbnb.com/ - renting apartments at pretty low prices (i really like this one, because you can just rent an apartment for let’s say 3 people, but go as many as you want, so the price is divided between you)
- https://www.hostelworld.com/ - a database for all hostels (cheap and nice!)
- https://www.couchsurfing.com/ - sleep for free on a stranger’s couch! it’s a great way to make friends all around the world - also the help of a local is always welcomed
- https://www.kiwi.com/us/ - for flights (also you can just choose for how long you want to travel, and it will give you the cheapest dates)
- http://hitchwiki.org/en/Main_Page - a database/connecting platform for hitchhiking
- http://www.azair.com/ - same as wiki, but I think you can search more flights with this one (I prefer azair, but have friends who like using kiwi better; best is to check out both!)
- https://www.rome2rio.com/ - this one is super helpful - all you have to do is introduce from where do you want to travel and where, and it will present you all the choices - bus, train, airplane - you decide
- https://www.citybreak.com/ - present offers for a few days trip (2-4 usually) with included accommodation, transportation, etc. for a pretty decent price
Hope this helps some of you!
