Hi bitches! My car recently was put into hospice care (the shop said to just keep feeding her oil to keep her comfortable until she passes) so I had to look for a new car and I just wanted to celebrate some wins with you!
a) I didn’t let my desire for shiny new things cloud my judgement and bought a used 2019 car with only 50m miles on it that’s *very* reliable
b) I did not let any salesmen bully me into sitting down to discuss buying a new car or anything else that I didn’t want to do
c) I called my salesman who sold me the car I actually bought out on some bullshit, even though I hate confrontation! He had told me the price was 25,999 over text and then “accidentally” showed me the financials for the car with the “old” price that was $1k more than that, and when I called him out on it, he said the low price had been last month’s price… Never mind the fact that he had texted me in the same month I bought the car in, saying that it had “just been dropped” to that price. I ended up negotiating to get the $800 “accessories” fee taken off this way!
So I just wanted to say thanks for all your advice on car-buying, it definitely came in handy! I love love love my new car, and it didn’t leave me completely destitute!

Well, the simple answer is...what do you really need one for!
The one I had was simply terrible...in nearly every way. It was a metallic green, 1.9 Diesel with 5 spoke alloy wheels and tinted windows.
We ran it as a cheap get around for 4 months until it met its inevitable end with a blown head gasket at the side of the A90, north of Dundee.
You could get a lot in the Berlingo with its 690L rear such as tools, bikes and if you put the back seat up, you could even take your granny for a spin.
It handled like a canal boat being piloted by an elephant, accelerated like one too, 0-100 Kph: 19.9 Seconds..
You could load it up using the double hinged doors at the back and drive to your next location with everything still intact (as a van should do).
But being a previous cheap ‘work horse’ for a farm yard, you can imagine this Van just simply was not being cared for in the way that it should and sadly it met its demise.
But with it getting us around from A to B for four months without fault, and with all of the above mentioned, it actually makes it okay in my book...
