Fixing cheap wigs
After Halloween I bought two wigs at Walmart for half price they were both about 6 dollars American. I cosplay and I am always up for cheap wigs. These wigs are are extremely shiny and not good quality. I knew buying them I’ll be fixing them and I finally did it today. Yay me being productive in 2019!!
This is the first wig. It’s not a good photo but it’s really bad.
This is the second wig and it’s thicker then the first one but the wig is really hard to put on. It’s made really badly.
So to fix these wigs I used a few YouTube tutorials.
I filled a bucket with warm water and added fabric softener (you can use any brand) I used downy because it was in my house. Next you just flip the wig inside out and dunk it in. I put my hands and moved the wigs around so the water would get it all.
Next is to leave it in for 3-5 days.
The purpose of this is to make the wig less shiny and more ‘realistic’.
I’ll make another post when it’s been about 5 days!
(hint hint: there is more to this process after the wigs dry)
