Old sketch I love and should finish ^^^
When I raised my prices, I made it so I made 18/hr plus a little extra for 'customer service' and my talents. To keep track of my hours, I just used the built in speed paint feature on my drawing program. Seeing those big numbers has gotten me thinking about my art a lot in a different angle, and I realized I (and all artists) deserve to be paid much better for our skills. I've spent my literal entire life honing this craft that most do not possess, and I wasn't making minimum wage? Really sorry of haunted me and gave me the kick to update my pricing lul.
It's also got me thinking about what a good artist I really am. Sure, there are many things I need to improve upon, but they are things I am actively working on. And being able to see where my art needs improvement is a skill I've trained for years as well. I think it's easy for me to have consumer-brain and look at my work and say "that's not very good", and cast it aside, without thinking about how much effort goes into a single drawing. I love drawing.
