Something's happening here
Sharon and I joined about 150 other "No Kings" protestors in Cheboygan, Michigan Saturday morning - a good turnout considering the soggy weather, plus the fact that northern Michigan is mainly Trump country.
Despite the rain, the mood was light. Peaceful protestors carried signs bearing messages like "RESISTING KINGS SINCE 1776" and "NO CROWN FOR THE CLOWN." The majority of feedback from Main Street passers by was positive, although I counted a half-dozen birds flipped through car windows.
The Cheboygan rally was one of about 2,700 that took place Saturday in cities and towns throughout the U.S. and in some foreign capitals.
An estimated 7 million demonstrators took to the streets to protest the increasing authoritarianism of the Trump regime.
