Baby steps.
Ears out for balance and walking on tippy-toes, Simon completes his maiden voyage onto the wood floor and heads back to the safety of the purple towel. I'm amazed he ventured out that far. Meanwhile, River is checking the perimeter for weaknesses to exploit that will allow her under the furniture.
This is Spot. He politely offered to protect you during your run. This is what’s known in the business as “securing the perimeter.” 14/10 you’re welcome (follow spot_the_whippetmix)
Checking the Perimeter/Piper and Bobby.
It had been a while since Piper spent any "quality time" with Bobby. And, surprisingly (or surprisingly to those who were kind of scared of him) Piper quite liked hanging out with the man. They had had some good conversation on the roof of the house in Scottsboro, and she really liked talking with him. It had been easy to fall into a beat with Bobby and, unlike a lot of conversations, where, she felt she needed to put up a front, she never was unsure and never felt the need to do so. If anything, she knew exactly what to say, and her sass came from a place of "let's poke fun at each other" not, "I'm unsure of what to say, so I'll just say this". So long that Bobby didn't cut her tongue out or anything, she was good.
When the brunette finally found good ol' Deborah shoved in her backpack, Piper secured the weapon onto her belt and zipped her pack back up. She did a once-over of her belongings, being sure they weren't all spread around - she wanted things to be ready to go just in case they needed to get out quick. When she was satisfied that her belongings were nice and orderly, Piper headed off to find Bobby.
She found the man where he said he'd be - right by his motorcycle. Bobby stood, leaning against the vehicle, his crossbow - what Piper had secretly dubbed as Bobby's "signature" - was never more than a few feet away, and the weapon was securely tucked away on the back of the bike. The man, though relaxed, remained alert. Piper gave a short nod as she approached the bike.
"Reporting for duty!" she announced enthusiastically.
