Our kitties would much prefer to be home but before we grabbed anything when evacuating, we collected them (not without difficulty!). I get stressed being away from them just overnight (any other overly attached cat people out there?) and I can't imagine leaving them behind when you think your house is going to burn down 😿

down again. Two really bad fires within my county. Huge portions of residential areas evacuated. One is out, but the other is coming down a canyon towards one of the larger housing subdivisions in the area. My GF’s home is less than a mile from the leading edge of that fire. The county fairgrounds nearly got torched in the other fire. This shit all started around 2AM when a sudden windstorm knocked down trees onto power lines. Because of other, bigger fires going through napa and sonoma counties we lost the super-sized air tankers. The pair of CalFire S-2s out of the local base have flown about 16+ sorties each in the three hours they’ve been operational today.
