Here’s the thing as well: now that Taylor has publicly acknowledged that basically only women have been supporting her in this latest injustice, men speaking up doesn’t mean a thing. If men like Ed or Shawn publicly speak up the next time Taylor publicly asks for help, we’ll know it’s nothing more than an attempt to “get in” on the publicity that comes with supporting a ‘feminist’ cause, because that’s what Taylor has explicitly made it into. They no longer have the excuse that they’re supporting her privately because it’s not just about Taylor anymore, but rather an issue of whether men should be able to treat women as nothing more than items to trade, reducing their value down to a dollar amount without allowing them into the discussion. They cannot claim ignorance without also making it clear that they have never been listening to her in the first place.
