[[ Duty Calls ]] - Closed for Akashi
@checkmxte
There was only two things Niles enjoyed doing after a show, and both of which involved a bed. He was exhausted. Despite the effortlessness he tried to portray on the stage, dancing wasn’t easy especially not when a bachlorette party parks itself in the front row and is an ever demanding sea of bills and drunken requests for the entire shift. Finally done, dressed and on his way out of the Casino for the night the former thief wanted nothing more than to simply fall into his bed and not move until it was absolutely necessary.
But of course, life wasn’t exactly on his side in that regard. No. He hadn’t gotten more than halfway home to his apartment when his phone went off - a familiar name flashing in the screen. A sigh fell from his lips before he even realized it had left his throat. It wasn’t that he didn’t like his employer, if anything he found the redhead amusing.... But he wasn’t a fan of just how often the boy used the ‘gift’ he’d been given. Niles had hoped he’d get one maybe two emergency calls before the other took over his company and hired the former thief full time... Instead he’d been at his constant beck and call since arriving in the city. Shoving his phone in his pocket he didn’t reply, he never did, knew he didn’t have to. Instead he turned on his heel and headed the opposite direction to where Akashi lived.
It was only 15 minutes before he was there. Leaning against a bookcase in the dark home, arms folded across his chest as his single eye scanned through the lightless room. He had come in through the window, and when he finally caught sight of that familiar silhouette stepping into the main room he simply tilted his head making no effort to turn on the lights.
“Someone better be dying” he quipped, a low sarcastic tone on his words.

ー New Year Kisses
“Wow, you’re tall.” Mila chuckled as she tiltes her head up to look at the male. “I think I need to warm up for this.” She said jokingly as she playfully stretched.
“Okay, I’m done.” She chimed as she got on her tip toes and placed a kiss on thr male’s cheek.
“Happy New Year!”
“You fainted…straight into my arms. You know, if you wanted my attention you didn’t have to go to such extremes.”
There were forecasts of slippery ice possibly forming on the puddles of water from the previous night where it drizzled. That, along with Oha Asa's warning that Cancers may encounter accidents more often puts the superstitious male on high alert at all times, even when accompanying his friend on a day out.
Clutching his lucky item in his hand, Midorima walked with extreme caution, attracting quite a few spectators commenting on his rigid way of walking.
It was then that he suddenly lost his footing to a small patch of ice on the pavement that he failed to realise, causing him to slip backwards, only for Akashi to catch him right in his arms, preventing him from falling to the hard, concrete pavement.
Midorima slowly opened his eyes as emerald hues locked onto rubellite ones. They maintained this stance for about a few seconds before he realised what had happened.
As soon as the other made a preposterous statement, Midorima immediately sprang back up from Akashi's arms, followed by a stuttering retort.
"Y-You know that wasn't my intention, Akashi!" He exclaimed, trying to hide his embarrassment by tilting his spectacles in the hopes of hiding the pink-coloured flush that appeared across his cheeks.
"And I didn’t faint either.” He added, pouting slightly as he walked ahead of the red-haired in his usual tsundere way.
"Care for a little bit of Christmas songs? No? Well, too bad!"
It was evident that the upcoming festivities were filling his red-haired friend with excitement, despite the other's seemingly calm, collected expressions. Those red orbs were sparkling with joy and Midorima could see it.
Probably TOO MUCH joy, for Midorima's taste.
Not that the green-haired male had any dissents towards Christmas but for the past few days, Akashi was indulging himself with numerous Christmas carols on loop at his residence. From Jingle Bells to Frosty the Snowman all the way to O Christmas Tree, it was an endless replay of familiar tunes. Familiar tunes that started to get on Midorima's nerves.
"Akashi, I know how much you value Christmas," and he really does, because what university student would still believe in the existence of Father Christmas? Nobody, except his sister and his best friend right here donned in red with a plate of cookies and a glass of milk nearby the fireplace. "But this is too much."
Too much Christmas carols in his head.

"Mistletoe"
ー Muses under the Mistletoe
“Well now.” Mila let out a chuckle as she looked at the Mistletoe above them. She honestly didn’t like being stuck under a mistletoe with someone but she was also the type of person who didn’t like going against tradition, as it seems.
“Well, what are we waiting for?”
