[[ Dropping In]] - Closed for Midorima

Niles liked his employers place. Not that he didn’t like his own small apartment, but he would admit it was dirty, needed some air freshener - could use a good wipe down… Akashi’s place was clean. It was tidy, the fridge was stocked and there was also fresh coffee in the mornings. Used to working late nights at the casino, the former thief had unusual sleep habits so when he’d gotten a call early that morning to come over to assist he hadn’t minded. The task was simple enough, he barely did anything, the redhead seemed to simply want a ‘second opinion’ but it was clear to Niles that what he wanted was someone to just confirm that his ideas were decent so he wouldn’t doubt himself - He just happened to be the person Akashi knew would be genuine and actually tell him if something was shit. When it was time for him to leave, Niles was given permission to stay longer and help himself to some coffee and breakfast if he locked up on the way out… Which is how he found himself sitting in the spacious kitchen enjoying a cup of coffee that didn’t taste like it was steeped through an asshole for once.
When a knock on the door interrupted his perusing of the local paper he paused, staring at the door trying to debate whether or not he wanted to answer it. Deciding to ignore it he simply turned the page, making no effort to be quiet about it. Though it was only moments later when a second, firm knock filled the kitchen and he sighed, pulling himself to his feet as he moved to open it. Staring at the face of one of his employers school mates he yawned, rubbing at his hair with the hand not clutching to his coffee like a life preserver.
“If you’re looking for Red, he’s already gone. Surprised he could walk at all though, it was quite a night” he smirked, his single eye flashing as he watched for a reaction.

There was a time when Midorima could enjoy some peace and quiet at Akashi's residence. It was considerably larger than his own apartment with extra, luxurious amenities offered to only the finest people who were lucky enough to live there to begin with.
Ever since their reunion back in the castle, Midorima made frequent visits to Akashi’s apartment to regain the time that was lost between them over the years. Though the redhead was busy most of the time, they simply spend their time together in silence. It was enjoyable to say the least.
Well, until the arrival of, supposedly, Akashi’s very own bodyguard.
Let’s say that Midorima didn’t exactly got along well with him, though he kept his dignity and refined himself enough to keep his opinions at bay.
Nevertheless, he had to return the hourglass to Akashi today as the lucky item had served its purpose yesterday.
It usually takes only a couple of knocks for Akashi to answer the door, but when it took a few more tries than usual, it was evident that the other simply wasn’t in today. Sighing in slight disappointment, Midorima was about to turn away from the door when it opened.
“I have no interest as to what you two were doing last night, I am simply here to return the hourglass.” Midorima harshly retorted to that sardonic remark. He was clearly not here for jokes.
