Just finished Stiletto by Daniel O'Malley-finally! The Rook took me two to three days but this took me a week because of numerous interruptions, disruptions of routine, and also because The Rook was better (a personal opinion not based on any technicalities as this was a really bloody good book too). I LOVE this book, magic and science meet!!! Crafts and skills! Surgical weaponry and plain powers! Love Odette love Myfanwy and Ernst and Alessio and h8 the Antagonists. There was one tiny thing that irked me tho and that was the very extra excessive use of adjectives! Like if he did it randomly, with a firm hand, it would've generated the delighted cry of surprised amusement, but he was really heavy-handed with it this time and it became too expected. However it's a really really minute criticism, honestly a twig compared to the forest of goodness & intricacy & brilliant plot planning, execution, imagination.
