Another thing that Centaur World did that could stand to be mentioned more is the strange arc they put Ched through because like, he didn't exactly change as a character so much as have his heaps and heaps of deeply weird backstory and interpersonal baggage get gradually revealed, which did this (I think intentional) labyrinth walk with the audience so that without ever changing more than slightly, Ched changed completely.
What I mean is like, if you watch him having seen the whole show, he moves very slightly. He gets a little more open. He accepts a little bit of vulnerability. Not much of a change.
But the FIRST time you watch the show Ched changes from being the annoying straight guy with toxic masculinity for brains to a bitter, tired, cranky ex-theater kid who is gay and trans and has a desperate, awkward crush on Zulius and also he had sex with a skeleton.
The skeleton may or may not have knocked him up depending on the ontological mystery that is Gary. Like. IS Gary alive somehow? Is Gary always alive except when the audience can see him? Is there some additional magic to Gary that makes him able to impregnate a Bird Centaur? Because like Gary canonically can make sheet cakes somehow. Despite being a skeleton.
