The Cheeca Lodge
If you're planning a vacation in the keys, the Cheeca is definitely a spot to consider. It's located in islamorada, 2 hours away from Key West, making it a perfect stopping point along the way. Walking around the expansive property makes you feel like you're traversing a jungle. It's absolutely beautiful, and while it isn't modern or ritzy, it's classy and glamorous in that Old Florida sort of way. I'd definitely recommend Nikai for dinner- I consider myself a sushi connoisseur, and this was some of the best sushi I've ever had. Also, make sure to sample some of Limoncello's homemade gelato! Other than that, plan to relax at the spa or catch some rays on the beach. This hotel is a perfect spot for couples & families alike, and in my opinion, no trip to the Keys would be the same without a stop at the Cheeca! It's pretty expensive, though, so keep that in mind when you're traveling.
