how about Be Still My Foolish Hart?
Hoho that's the WIP that has the most of my attention!
It's a Centaurworld au fic (and the title is absolutely a pun/play on words, with the lyrics nabbed and changed for pun purposes from the Hozier song Almost (Sweet Music)). This fic originally was titled Second Chance but I wanted more pizazz, and it could potentially change titles again before it's all said and done, but this is where it is currently!
Major Centaurworld Season 2 spoilers
The premise of this one is the Elktaur is stopped during the scene where he splits himself in two -- by the magical manifestation of the heart of Centaurworld, no less. The essence of the world offers to show him the consequences of his actions should he proceed, and he's left reeling from the revelation that the path he's on would cause such utter devastation. From there, the heart of Centaurworld lets him decide to either move forward with his plan or to give his life as a centaur a second chance -- including gaining said second chance to try and pursue the princess.
It's a fixit fic of self discovery, romance, and acceptance with the on and off existential shenanigans and angst mixed in for seasoning, but overall it's a much happier fic than Shattered Mirror is. It's one of those that started with a fairly clear outline for me to follow, but the characters are trying to do the "but what if I do THIS" stunt on me as I get deeper so we'll see how it actually ends up ending! Either way, I'm having a lot of fun with it c:
