i don’t ever mean this in a bad way or anything, it’s just smth i noticed

but while i rarely read kalim fics, when i do n it’s like a “after marriage” scenario, i find it funny when the author use “al-asim” as the reader’s/wife’s last name

bc that’s … just not how it works at all, women in saudi arabia[/islam, which is where i mostly cite my sources] don’t take their husband’s last name and just keep their maiden name

which i always thought was just ,,, better? idk western naming system always confused me why do you take your husband’s last name at all, what if you get divorced or smth
