𝚍𝚎𝚊𝚛   𝚌𝚑𝚛𝚒𝚜𝚜𝚢 ,

you   are   the    most   radiant   kind   of   soul .   i   mean   it .   i   swear ,   whenever   you   walk   into   a   room ?   heads   turn ,   all   eyes   fall   onto   you ;   and   it’s   like   i   can   see   the   smiles   cross   onto   people’s   features .   that  ...  that   right   there ?   it   is   the   impact   you   have   on   those   around   you .   our   beloved   queen .   we   are   all   but   loyal   subjects            following   you   aimlessly ,   trusting   your   lead .   as   someone   who   has   been   by   your   side ?   someone   who   has   seen   some   of   the   darkest   parts   of   you   amongst   all   that   light ?   i’d   trust   you   with   my   life .   you   and   i ?   we’ve   been   stuck   like   glue   since   sophomore   year .   you’ve   been   there   with   me   through   some   of   the   hardest   trials   i’ve   come   to   face   thus   far .   chrissy  ...  where   would   i   be   without   you ?   i’m   afraid   that   i   would   forget   how   to   function .   as   thankful   as   i   am   that   you   and   i   are   friends  ...   and   that   i   get   to   see   that   heart   stopping   smile   on   the   daily           i   need   to   get   something   off   of   my   chest .   i   want   to   be   somebody   to   you .   and   i   know   what   you’ll   say ;   you   are .   you’re   my   friend !  you’re   right .   i   always   will   be .   but  ...  i   wish   to   be   more   than   that .   you   might   have   never   noticed ,   but   chrissy            i   long   for   you   in   the   most   innocent   way .   i   want   to   be   the   person   you   call   at   night ,   hold   hands   with   in   the   hall ,   be   the   person   to   give   you   their   sweater   when   you   get   cold .   maybe   that’s   wrong   of   me   to   want .   these   feelings   i’ve   developed   for   you ?   they   came   all   too   easily   and   hit   me   like   a   ton   of   bricks .   this   weight   holds   me   under ,   makes   me   feel   like   i’m   drowning .   especially   because   you   never   see .   will   you   ever ?   this   letter   is   not   meant   to   change   things ,   in   case   you   are   wondering .   i   need   to   get   this   off   of   my   chest   before   i   find   myself   turning   cold  ...  bitter .   being   like   that   with   you   is   something   i   could   not   forgive   myself   for ;   you’ve   done   no   wrong .   you’re   a   human   just   as   the   rest   of   us .   your   heart  ...  very   obviously  ...   has   those   that   it   yearns   for ,   too .   and   it   is   so   evident   each   time   he   walks   into   the   room .   sometimes ,   it’s   almost   like   i   can   feel   your   heart   skip   a   beat   as   your   gaze   follows   him .   you’re   lovesick   for   him   like   i   am   for   you .   never   in   my   life   have   i   wished   to   be   someone   else   more   than   i   have   as   of   late  ...   funny ,   isn’t   it ?   let   it   be   known ;   your   happiness   is   the   most   important   thing .   i   would   never   stand   in   the   way   of   something   that   makes   you   happy .   if   that   is   him ?   go   for   it .   you   deserve   only   the   best .   it   may   sting   a   little   for   me   at   first  (   or   for   a   good   while  ) ,   but   i   will   support   you   continuously .   always .   i’ve   been   your   personal   cheerleader   for   this   long .   there’s   no   giving   it   up   now .

she  ends  up  there  most  nights.  a  silent  figure  lurking  in  the  shadows  of  a  room  that  held  so  many  memories.  perhaps  the  only  walls  that  held  happy  memories  within  their  home;  nights  filled  with  laughter,  two  sisters  huddled  together  under  one  blanket  sharing  their  secrets.  it’s  hollow  and  cold,  now.  a  single  figure  hunched  over  in  a  bed.  empty  footsteps  carry  her  to  the  side  that  had  once  unofficially  been  hers,  bringing  her  legs  up  to  her  chest  as  she  lays  beside  @cheersleads​.    ❝   i  miss  you.   ❞    there’s  a  wetness  on  her  cheeks.  can  ghosts  cry?    ❝   i’m  sorry  i  had  to  go.   ❞

       the first day of school made her dizzy. plucking a flower she raised her eyebrows at chrissy, plucking the petals softly. “ pick a petal, eenie meenie minie mo, and flower. ” she leaned up on her toes, gently tucking it behind chrissy’s ear. “ you're the chosen one. ”

               eyes  are  wide  as  she  nods,      already    so    much    trust    put    into    this    man    ,      because    if    he    can    come    back    from    the    dead    and    be    okay    -    then    maybe    there    was    some    hope    for    her    too  ?      breaths    are    shaky    ,      but    she    breathes    along    with    him    ,      voice    barely    a    whisper    until    the    room    reaches    a    peaceful  silence    .        “    ---    ...    where    did    you    learn    that  ?    ”

hand on her shoulder, he watches and takes slow, deep breaths with her. just like he did with joyce in the upside down. and just like he did with sara. he nods as she breathes, encouraging her. showing her she’s safe with him, that it was okay. just breathe. and then, of course, the question. it turns into a lump in his throat, and he leans back a bit. drops his hand. “ used to have panic attacks back in the day, ” he says in a quiet voice. of course, that wasn’t all. the tools he learned also helped sara when she was sick. he clears his throat. “ also helped out my kid a couple times. dunno. comes in handy a lot these days. ”

" i don’t see why not. if it makes you happy, do it. ” life was too short. and looking a lot shorter these days as jim watches the red storm hovering over the center of town. he had the worst feeling about all of this, yet continued to soldier on. he turns his head toward her and gives a small smile. “ i think you should, kid. ”

The  time  that  passes  between  them,  from  the  moment  the  question  is  asked,  feels  like  an  eternity.   Feels  like  Robin’s  insides  are  crawling  out  of  her  body,  and  maybe  she  shouldn’t  have  asked  at  all.   Maybe  she  had  misread  all  the  signs,  and  maybe  Chrissy  was  going  to  be  entirely  and  completely  freaked.   But  then  she’s  answering,  and  Robin  feels  as  if  her  breath  gets  stuck  within  her  throat,  as  if  she’s  forgotten  how  to  breathe. 

❛  O  ---  Okay  ---  ❜   Blue  eyes  search  the  other’s  features  ---  her  pretty  eyes  sending  warmth  throughout  her  entire  body  before  gaze  drifts  down  to  pink  tinted  lips,  and  she  finds  herself  leaning  in,  almost  instinctually.   A  hand  raises   (  hesitantly  )   moving  to  rest  gently  against  Chrissy’s  cheek.   And  it  isn’t  long  before  her  eyelids  are  fluttering  shut,  her  own  lips  finding  Chrissy’s,  soft  and  sweet  and  everything  she’d  thought  she’d  be.
