I hate my dad's family. They get in my face too much and my family thinks I'm rude for not wanting to socialize with them. They say, "just deal with it". I can't. Most of my racist and irresponsible relatives come from that side and I can't stand it. Last year, on Christmas Eve, I was dragged to my dad's family Christmas party after my mom's family Christmas party ended. It was loud, there were SMALL CHILDREN and relatives wearing pretty revealing clothes. I cried when I came home... Sorry.
No no,no need to apologize. That does sound terrible, and I think most people can relate to “those relatives”, to an extent. Have you tried talking to your parents(specifically your father), addressing this concern? It would be better to do so on a day where you have time to talk, rather than right before you leave, that way they don’t think you are coming up with an excuse and you can have a heartfelt conversation. If that doesn’t work,find a way to chill!Maybe bring your favorite music to listen to,or find a way to get outside and escape from all the noise. Your father is probably close to his family and wants his own children to be the same. What he needs to realize,though, is that not everyone is going to connect.
As for the children…were their parents around? It seems kind of strange that they would be allowed to act so…wild.
