What happens when a chef, a wine maker, a wine critic and an artist get together for a socially distant picnic? (Yes, we all got our negative COVID test results!) I didn’t know what we would be tasting ahead of time. Im glad I went in with an open mind amd palate. Wow did I learn a lot about climate change and California wines! 6 syrahs and a few other delights later I found a new favorite! Our table was handcrafted from the top of a piano as well as homemade ceramic cups and platters! The orange wine is a delicate ferment of rhubarb and pomegranate! It was a bold start at 12.5%abv! My contribution: grilled eggplant flatbread with chopped giardiniera, melted bouchon, basil, mint and an unfiltered California olive oil And A cheaters porchetta: neuskes bacon wrapped around a peppercorn and herb crusted pork tenderloin with local wild arugula, figs and balsamic! We talked long into the night about the future of wine, food, and social gatherings! Get tested regularly so you can keep each other inspired! Special thanks to @mrtonybrown and @hollicorbett for hosting such a beautiful night! 📸: @mrtonybrown #allfivesenses #chefonvacation #chefsofinstagram #foodnerds #wine #california #yachtcheflife #cheflife #friends #eatlocal #californiawines #onthetable https://www.instagram.com/p/CGQxnPnAagj/?igshid=eyt9z58zal40
