ROY’S CHICAGO
Now, when I first got here Chef Micheal Stewart was the executive chef, and Dillion Graham was still a line cook but was dubbed “Chef’s protege”. He was one of those line cooks that like to walk around with his chest out and boss you around like he personally paid you. At the time he had a black girlfriend who was also a server and he use to say some racist ass shit that she shockingly tolerated, probably because she was the only black girl in the restaurant . I remember one night after closing he said to her “you must’ve worked hard, you smell like watermelon.” She kinda laughed it off, but looked really embarrassed. I wasn’t shocked at all this guy was an asshole. I remember the pastry cook she was an asshole as well. She was a latina girl with long dark hair and one day I almost lost my shit and wanted to beat the shit out of her. As I’m doing tempura flakes she needed help with something. I simply say “I’m busy, I can’t help you.” She said “I’m still training you so what I need is priority.” I said, Well it’s been a month, training is over. After I finish this I’ll see what I can do.” She flexed super tough it was almost cute she screamed “NOW.” I walked up on her so fast the kitchen stood still “ Lil bitch you heard what the fuck I said, you don’t run shit! No go tell chef!!” She iced it down to tears lol and went and told chef. Chef approached me and asked me when I get a chance could I help her out. I turned to her and said that’s how you ask. I knew then that I wouldn't be there long. I don’t flourish well in and environment full of assholes
