once again
yeah <3 @cheirman
they’re sitting in a registered room at the public library for some neutral ground negotiations, the others having left to get lunch, leaving vincenzo and the chairman alone. “ hey, han - seok. ” finger taps once over the table to emphasize, “ look at me. ”
from @cheirman: if it’s any consolation, you had me convinced.
❝ MM . IT HELPS SOFTEN THE BLOW A BIT . ❞ sebastian tilts his head from side to side , lips pursed , as he contemplates their next move . so much for trying to get into this event the easy way — — through the front door . the guards at the door are STILL frowning over at them , even though they’ve moved aside to regroup . ❝ but i guess the whole i lost my ticket excuse doesn’t work when the tickets are digital . on your phone . I DIDN’T KNOW THAT . did you know that ? ❞ sebastian shoves his hands into his jacket pockets and motions for joon-woo to follow him as he starts studying the building , the multiple levels and windows for possible entry ( far away from the doorman’s perceptive eye , mind you ) . he starts wandering , scouring , narrowed eyes hunting for an infiltration site that might work for both of them . ❝ can you free climb ? or do i need to get in there first and open a back door for you ? both are FEASIBLE OPTIONS — — i suppose i’m only asking to ensure you don’t tumble and die trying to climb after me . ❞
@cheirman said: is that what my face is saying?
only m/urders in the b/uilding.
“ mm. you got tells. “ small ones, subtle ones. ones other people might not notice. he can’t not see. he can’t ever stop seeing, hearing. he hates it, in a way.
he’s half leaning against the wall leading right into the plaza, eating a sandwich given to him by ms. kwak. “ blood rushes to your nose when you lie. “ a swallow. “ that one’s not just you, it’s everyone. “ pops another pinch of sandwich into his mouth. while chewing, though having the grace enough to shove it to his cheek: “ makes it itchy. “

cheirman asked: "he's only mostly dead."
she’s been here before. with a different man, bigger and uglier, and a different dead body too. but just like she had with deok-su, sae-byeok knows how to handle this. jaw sets to an almost painful degree, the muscles of it working dangerously to contain a cutting remark. eyes burn with a quiet enmity and are set straight ahead, refusing to look away.
because if you look away, they’ll think you’re weak. and if they think you’re weak, then you’re fucking next.
hands tighten into fists, clenching so hard it makes her fingers ache. knife sits heavy in her pocket, the weight of it comforting. sae-byeok has seen plenty of bodies before; in her hometown, while running with deok-su’s gang, during her time on the streets in general. that hardly makes it easier to see them. there’s nothing easy about watching someone get their head split open by a hockey stick.
“cut it out with the jokes,” she says through gritted teeth. the way he’s smiling is so fucking unsettling, it makes sae-byeok’s stomach turn. “what the fuck has gotten into you?”

cheirman asked: "how about a little midnight snack?"
a quick glance down at her watch before hand is returned to the pocket of her jacket. sae-byeok meets his eyes with a blank stare. “it’s not even 10:30 yet.”
she wonders how they keep crossing paths like this. it’s not like it’s a small city, but somehow they’ve come across each other more times than she’s comfortable with — her and the weird guy who just about ran her over with his scooter the first time they met. the weird guy who called her ‘ scooter girl ’ when he saw her a week later, which didn’t even make any sense because she’s not the one who’d been riding around recklessly on one of those things. and then there was that time he was walking around the plaza... that’s right, he knows hong cha-young.
instant suspicion causes her hackles to raise. why he’s inviting her out and to what end, sae-byeok doesn’t know. she doesn’t like it. but she can’t deny that there might be some satisfaction in hassling a meal out of this guy. he looks dumb enough for it to work at least once.
her shoulders sag slightly, sighing as if she’s been defeated. “fine. but i’ll only go if you’re paying.”
@cheirman , “ not all debts can be repaid. ”
attention shifts from his lips once his words register, molten discs flickering up to meet his gaze. there’s a slow smile that forms over her lips, like a marionette tugging her strings — it’s almost mechanical how she moves, so unfeeling and impersonal. taunting, haunting. she knows she would have targeted his company back when silence was still alive and kicking. she knows her group would have demolished his standing among the stocks, taking from the monster pile of intellectual property and stolen funds to give away. she also knows she could just imagine the rage that would paint his features upon hearing the news that his company had taken a massive dent in all aspects financially. but she was no longer silence, just another puppet of law enforcement. for the most part. “ but that concept doesn’t ever really exist in your realm, does it ? i would assume everything could be repaid. you’ve got that power. or your dad did. ” her speech is paced, meticulous as her sight rarely leaves his. chalk it up to her excuse of not wanting to miss a world that would leave his lips, but she was intrigued.

@cheirman , “ you’re the most repressed person that i know . ”
the pen snaps under the pressure of her fingers, the sound almost inaudible through the indistinct noise of babel group’s office. she’d rather be anywhere else but there, among the sea of bottom feeders and ass - kissers. this must be punishment, or a test, either way she was more than utterly offended with the notion of it. did father not trust her enough to take on the family business without having to attend to menial matters, and especially to babysit a partner / client of theirs ? as much as she wanted to lash out and fight back against such ridiculous orders, to claim that this particular endeavor was more fitting for the likes of her useless, failure of a brother — she couldn’t. so if she could just manage to leave ahead of schedule ... “ you could stand to be more repressed. they say eyes are the windows to our souls ? you’re letting way too much of a draft into yours. close up. ” curve of her lips twitches as she scowls, glare practically shooting daggers in his direction. “ maybe that’s why your enemies keep getting the upperhand. you reveal too much. there is such a thing as being too arrogant, and it’s fools like you, ” with that, she points straight at his eyes with the ink half of her broken pen, “ who don’t see it. ”
