☼ —; { As a fellow Merida rper I agree with you on the whole group think. The Big Four is a good group and I like the Four Seasons Disney Princess group even better. Merida though already had a canon four group and that's totes awesome and yeah. }

Sigh. It’s very hard for me to say anything nice about the Big Four.

Of all of the four films being portrayed, I feel like Brave easily gets the shittiest treatment? Tangled makes a close second if only because it sort of has a limited cast to begin with. 

What I mean is that any character aside from Merida (including Elinor, who is the film’s deuteragonist) are completely ignored by the fandom. In the case of HTTYD and ROTG, at least the Guardians and members of the Hairy Hooligan tribe are acknowledged. The characters from Tangled do receive similar treatment (most notably Flynn Rider, Rapunzel’s love interest and eventual husband) but I will still make the argument that Brave receives the worst treatment because at least there is still a large part of the Tangled fandom who appreciates  the film on its own and draw artwork and write fanfiction involving all of the characters.

HTTYD also has a diverse number of fanart, as does ROTG. The characters - even side characters like Sophie and Jamie - receive attention!

Because of the Big Four no one even looks at Brave’s secondary cast! The Suitors? Any fanart you’ve seen is mostly likely drawn by one of my partners, the only Young Macintosh and Wee Dingwall that exist among hundreds of Hiccups, Jack Frosts, Flynn Riders, Snotlouts, Tuffnuts, Bunnymunds, St. Nicholases, Pitchs. The Lords? Pfff. Even Merida’s father King Fergus has close to no fanart. I really can’t stress the fact enough that there are like no Brave roleplayers outside of Merida and a few Elinors. The Wee Devils? The Witch? Maudie?  Mor’Du? None at all. And I know a lot of it has to do with the diverse body shapes and that the characters aren’t conventionally fuckable enough. It’s the same reason why the Croods has been so promptly forgotten, in spite of having a better narrative and animation than Frozen’s. 

I don’t mean to come off as attacking you. This is just something that has frustrated me for a very long time. I want to scroll through the Brave tag and see pictures of the suitors rough housing together. I want to see Elinor and Fergus flirting during diplomatic discussions. I want to see the Lords fighting with each other. I want to see Merida playing with her brothers and sparring with her dad. I want to see a picture where Merida learns that she got her shooting abilities from her mother and not her father (an actual scrapped storyboard from the film.) I want to see pictures of Merida and the Suitors playing around as friends, because at the very least I do believe them to be friends.

Thanks to the Big Four, I will never see that. If I want to see fanfiction involving Merida and any of the suitors, or Merida with anyone from her own source film, I have to write it myself.

I’m tired of it.
