That being said, I’ve been starting small and focusing on completing smaller tasks, instead of going full throttle all at once (and subsequently fizzing out) like I have in the past. Not all of my goals are health goals either, but they’ve given me a sense of accomplishment that’s helping me develop self-discipline. Ive also tried to push myself out of my comfort zone.
Some highlights so far: I’ve read four books, gone on three dates (two with a gorgeous lady I’m psyched about), crushed an interview with a new company, stopped biting my nails, and joined a gym. I’m also participating in a 12-week weight loss challenge at work, and so far everyone is really committed. What I love about my team is that we’re all encouraging each other, and apparently the whole office team goes to the same gym. I just signed up online for Planet Fitness last night, so I went and did the elliptical for about 15 minutes (it was late and I was pressed for time). Then today I went and worked out with Keesha for real. I did half of the express workout (didn’t realize the step parts were supposed to be done in between), then 15 minutes on the elliptical and 12 on the stationary bike. I did 2 miles on the bike on high resistance and got my heart rate up to 183 (🥵) so I felt okay about how short of a time I did. I was sweating like crazy by the end and I’m starting to feel sore, so I think I did pretty good overall. Definitely feeling like I’ve gotten over some of the mental blocks I’ve been dealing with. Anyway, gonna plug in my Fitbit and hope it still works. Then I’m gonna get some sleep and maybe get up early to stretch.
