y’all ever have those lines in songs where, when they finally sing it, ur heart just goes !!!!! and you become very happy because that one line in particular is just so wonderfully and artfully crafted?? like sometimes it’s the tune, sometimes it’s the lyrics, sometimes it’s a key change, sometimes it’s a long note, sometimes it’s something hard to explain!! i live for these lines tbh, sometimes i’ll listen to particular songs just to hear a specific line lmao
Reblog if you’re part of a hostile nation that’s declared war on Australia
Oh my god though guys you don’t know the best thing! The best thing is: he’s right.
The Gay and Lesbian Kingdom of the Coral Sea Islands is a micronation near Australia. This is their flag:
The Gay Kingdom (as it is colloquially known) was founded in 2004 in protest against Australia’s legal stance against same-sex marriage.
Here are some of their stamps:
They are currently ruled by Emperor Dale I, and their currency is the Pink Dollar.
And, indeed - they declared war on Australia for not recognizing same-sex marriages performed outside the country. (Second link.)
You’re telling me there has been a Gay Island this ENTIRE TIME and I’m only just finding out about it????
WHAT
okay, but not enough people know the details on this. people at pride were upset about gay rights in australia. so they decided to sail 200 miles into the coral sea just ‘cause and put a rainbow flag on a fucking empty island out of spite. and i’m talking empty. no inhabitants. zero. it was a flat piece of land with a bit of dry grass. now it has a camp site and a post office.
they have a declaration of independence that talks a bit about gay rights and then just flat out copies the “life liberty and the pursuit of happiness” part from the american declaration of independence. and here’s the best part: the founding group actually elected their emperor. he was originally going to be called the “administrator” of a republic. their website, however, says that “upon legal advice, his title was changed to that of Sovereign on the grounds that under Australian law a defacto prince trying to claim his crown cannot be charged with treason”. so they made it a kingdom and he now claims to be a descendent of edward ii.
everything about this is glorious and everyone should know about it.

Not one of you mentioned that the anthem for this nation is I Am What I Am by Gloria Gaynor. Not. One. Of. You.

Worked out twice so far this week! Forgot my headphones when I went Monday but still clocked about 30 minutes at a 5 resistance. What a difference the music makes though, because I did 1/2 a “mile” more starting at a 6 and ending at a 10. Had a doc appointment this morning to get back on my meds and she said she was super proud of me for all the changes I’m making to take better care of myself. She said she could tell I’m doing way better mentally too. Lots of non-scale victories this week! Oh yeah, and I dyed my hair pink. It was supposed to be rose gold but the red tendencies in my hair gave it a little extra 💞
Last week was an off week, but I’m back on it! I’m ready for my pink-hair debut at work 💞

It's time for you to start taking the necessary steps to become that version of yourself that you can't stop dreaming about.
Okay so... I’ve been mentally and physically off track for a long time. Like since 2017 essentially. I made goals for 2020 but didn’t want to speak them into existence for fear of falling into the New Years Resolution trap.
That being said, I’ve been starting small and focusing on completing smaller tasks, instead of going full throttle all at once (and subsequently fizzing out) like I have in the past. Not all of my goals are health goals either, but they’ve given me a sense of accomplishment that’s helping me develop self-discipline. Ive also tried to push myself out of my comfort zone.
Some highlights so far: I’ve read four books, gone on three dates (two with a gorgeous lady I’m psyched about), crushed an interview with a new company, stopped biting my nails, and joined a gym. I’m also participating in a 12-week weight loss challenge at work, and so far everyone is really committed. What I love about my team is that we’re all encouraging each other, and apparently the whole office team goes to the same gym. I just signed up online for Planet Fitness last night, so I went and did the elliptical for about 15 minutes (it was late and I was pressed for time). Then today I went and worked out with Keesha for real. I did half of the express workout (didn’t realize the step parts were supposed to be done in between), then 15 minutes on the elliptical and 12 on the stationary bike. I did 2 miles on the bike on high resistance and got my heart rate up to 183 (🥵) so I felt okay about how short of a time I did. I was sweating like crazy by the end and I’m starting to feel sore, so I think I did pretty good overall. Definitely feeling like I’ve gotten over some of the mental blocks I’ve been dealing with. Anyway, gonna plug in my Fitbit and hope it still works. Then I’m gonna get some sleep and maybe get up early to stretch.
My date tonight 😍
