It had almost become routine.
Edward had been living in Citta long enough that muffled panic noises in the background barely registered on his personal radar anymore. There was always some villain, hero, monster, or other assorted disaster on the horizon, and it was usually best to ignore it, keep one’s head down, and go about one’s day.
As he sat in the library now, the wisest thing to do seemed to be “ignore the chaotic noises outside.” He had a few books to read- mostly on pandemics- and he had a Mass to work on.
His pen scritched over the notepaper, and it took the windows rattling from a particularly close boom to catch his attention.
He picked up his books and his Mass and started for the window, to get a glimpse of what was going on.
