Back in the Chemistry lab. These photos were from my 4th year Advanced Inorganic Chemistry lab. The experiment today was mainly about boiling ferrocene with aluminum, aluminium trichloride, Mesitylene and water in a Nitrogen environment. The rest of the photos are of purified ferrocene which was done by sublimation, precipitating orange crystals from a cruder ferrocene powder. Today wasn't a good day in my Organic Chemistry lab. I slipped and dropped my watchglass containing my synthesized and purified product (Cholesteryl Acetate, which took 2 weeks to make). It shattered. Some more good news. I just found my lab mark for my analytical chemistry course: I got a C+ (68.4%). This is the 6th highest mark in the class (out of 15 people). 😊

I’m happy because this lab instructor is a really harsh marker. And last year I failed this lab section. So I think I have a pretty good chance of getting a B or an A in this course.
