Sect Leader Lan, I have restrained myself from dueling your clansmen, as promised to you the last time. I have escorted your clansmen out of my home and have left them just outside the border of Yunmeng, but will not deceive myself into thinking that will stop them from returning.

I have, again, strengthened my wards. I suspect Wei Wuxian will goad Lan Wangji into trying to disarm them again tonight.

I grow tired of these missives. 

Please do something about Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian before I take matters into my own hands again. You will recall that I had only given you the antidote to the poison infused into my last security ward as you had undertaken to me that your clansmen will never trespass on my land again.

Sect Leader Lan has had to go into meditative seclusion. I am told this will last a month, but he has tasked me to deal with this matter for you. Sect Leader Lan has impressed upon me the severity of the issue, and the urgency with which I ought to resolve this matter for you.

I have reviewed all past correspondence on this matter, and believe that I now have a holistic view of the issue at hand.

I have a fresh solution to propose to you – have you considered perhaps modifying your wards to allow Hanguang-Jun and his husband free access to your lotus lakes?

Before you set this missive on fire!

It does not appear that Hanguang-Jun and his husband wish harm upon your sect or your property. Yes, Hanguang-Jun’s husband has stolen some lotus seeds, and yes, Hanguang-Jun appears to have taken a liking to picking your lotus flowers for his husband, but surely you would be able to easily quantify such damages and send a monthly account to Gusu Lan so we can reimburse you for your losses! 

We also acknowledge the “trespassing” element of the matter, and suggest, in resolution of this, that Gusu Lan lease your lotus lake from you, on terms which we may further discuss, to accommodate all of Hanguang-Jun’s nightly excursions with his husband. You may appreciate that there is some commercial sense to leasing the lotus lake out for use at night when no-one else is using it.

I believe that through this proposal, there will be mutual benefit to the both of us! I get to tell Sect Leader Lan that I have successfully completed my first task as Acting Sect Leader, and you get to sleep through the night without being rudely awakened from slumber and make money out of this arrangement! One stone, many birds!

Gusu Lan is sincere in its efforts in resolving this matter. We hope Sect Leader Jiang will consider our proposal.

It has been some weeks since we last exchanged missives. I trust you have been well. 

My uncle has expressed some concerns that you may be holding one of our disciples hostage, and that said disciple’s welfare is in question. I understand he had written to you privately about this, though you have not responded to his missives.

To clarify, I do not share the same concerns my uncle has. Certain rumours of your blossoming friendship with Lan Jingyi have made their way to Gusu, and while I appreciate that not all of it may be true, the many iterations of the rumours I have heard all seem to feature striking consistencies – that Jingyi has taken to wearing Yunmeng colours, and that you have been sighted wearing his forehead ribbon on your wrist.

If these rumours are true, I would welcome negotiation of a more formal alliance of our sects by way of marriage. Perhaps access to your lotus lake by certain members of our sect could be part of these negotiations? 

Either way, I look forward to hearing back from you.

I had the honour of being the artist painting the fanart for @anyreiart story for @utsminibang and I kind of went wild with it, don't blame me, blame the amazingly well-written story !

So brace yourself, it's a long post xDDD

( When I sent my drawings I told them it was a lot and didn't had to do put them all embeded in the fic, but they went and added them all in ! Like .. what ?! I was expecting them to chose ... 3-4... not the 12 !)

Funny story, I wanted to finish all the arts on a monday, and 2 days before the deadline my brain went "WAIT, I got a super idea for a new drawing, for the begining of the fic, I'm sure it'll be fine" … it was but brain ! Stop doing this to me !

Tips to avoid painting DuCheng's face : hide it in a snuggle with ShenYi. Works everytime and you have a drawing with them hugging !

Also, see how shameless DuCheng is ? He said that he was going to put ShenYi's drawing on the wall … well he put it on the freaking fridge !! And I'm not responsible for that, he put it here himself

I drew that much because I kept having the fic in my head and couldn't stop my hand from drawing and drawing, the fic is now printed in my brain.

I really loved the story, the characterisation, the emotions, and the cuteness of both of them, litteraly "faking" a relationship they both want like aaaaargg And finally HUGS yeahhhhh HUGS And also funzies, cause you need some And all of this strictly "for the job" you don't buy it ? but they solved the case at the end ... well things happened in between but eh

i wonder when did shen yi come up with the idea of keeping du cheng's 'shen yi ne?' as his alarm tone. was it his idea or du cheng's? if not then does du cheng know? he probably does, given the amount of time they spend together. what's hilarious is du cheng must have said it so many times that it must have become an inside joke by now amongst everyone at the police department. which brings me to the final question - how did shen yi record it? did he ask du cheng to say it in all different intonations possible for him to record it? did he record it discreetly at different times then compile them later? or was the entire department on a secret mission to record how many times du cheng says 'shen yi ne?' in an entire day, so that they can show it to shen yi later? either way it was an objectively small but subjectively a huge plot point to include to showcase the relationship between shen yi and du cheng.

So reading the story "Sitting In Lap" by wrote_and_writ (@auntiedebtravels) I just had to paint Du Cheng with Xiao Peng in his arm, cuz just like Shen Yi I can't resist something like that.
