“Hmm…” That was one special request, coming from an odd– she couldn’t even tell who or what even asked her this. Was it the landlord? The concierge, maybe? Someone else in the building? If it was a person, why would they want her opinion about the building? Sure, she had resided in Cheonguk long enough to know a few specific places that are pleasant to go to in the complex, but was it really necessary for her to go around, take a picture and give it afterwards? And to whom should she deliver it? Did she need to stick it in one of the lobby’s walls? Did she have to frame it and place it somewhere in her apartment, in hopes one of the ghosts pass by and take it?
No, Seo Ah wasn’t crazy to think ghosts were wandering or even staying in Cheonguk. She had witnessed too many weird things in the building for not thinking otherwise. She even questioned if the complex itself was alive, but it had been a long time she didn’t experience ominous sounds or sensations around.
The singer ensured to pass by the rooftop after schedules, a Polaroid camera in hands. A quick snap was enough, she believed. It was rather too late to hand in the picture.
And so, the next morning, she made her way to the lobby. Briefly, she looked both sides and behind, as if she was being watched. Once the surroundings were clear, she slid the picture on the counter to the receptionist. “I– well hi! I thought it would be lovely to show a beautiful sight of Cheonguk. I’m not sure what my picture could be used for, but I hope you’ll find an answer to that! Ah, I’m in a hurry and I can’t stay long to chat. Have a nice day!” Her words were too condensed. She didn’t even allow a proper break in between sentences or at comas. All she wanted was to run off to work, where she wouldn’t have to embarrass herself further.
