Cheraw is one of the small towns in South Carolina my family is from. It sits near the border of South Carolina and North Carolina. I had a friend who called people from the area part of my family is from "border hoppers" and when doing my own genealogical research it’s very true. Many people in the area including some of my family were back and forth between Anson County, NC and Chesterfield and Marlboro Counties in SC .

High water continued to delay Major-General William T. Sherman’s march through South Carolina on February 28, 1865.  But through the efforts of the troops, bridging and corduroying, and the abating flood waters, the Federals made some progress.

Zubie, [cool name] based on Sullivans Island, is receiving some backing from Nokia Growth Partner's Connected Car Fund. 

Zubie is an awesome technology that allows you to plug a dongle into your vehicle's diagnostic port and via an app can deliver real-time feedback on your vehicle, with data such as needed repairs, estimated costs to repair, driving habits, and more.

This is one of several technology ventures that have sprouted from Charleston over the last few years... it is certainly an area to keep an eye on and one that is providing needed resources for technology start ups.
