And Yet Another Technology Company Calls Charleston Home

Zubie, [cool name] based on Sullivans Island, is receiving some backing from Nokia Growth Partner's Connected Car Fund. 

Zubie is an awesome technology that allows you to plug a dongle into your vehicle's diagnostic port and via an app can deliver real-time feedback on your vehicle, with data such as needed repairs, estimated costs to repair, driving habits, and more.

This is one of several technology ventures that have sprouted from Charleston over the last few years... it is certainly an area to keep an eye on and one that is providing needed resources for technology start ups.

Recently I made trips to Charleston and Columbia to meet with accelerators on business.  The technology vibe in Charleston really surprised me.  I realized that there had been several notable #startups there like BoomTown, PeopleMatter and others, but really hadn't given any deep thought to it.  As a matter of fact, when I originally started searching for accelerators, I looked out of state, assuming that none existed in SC.

Of course, a little deeper research yielded South Carolina accelerators like The Iron Yard, Tminus6, and The Harbor Entrepreneur Center.  So, with a more localized mindset, I started reaching out in our region, casually, and discovered that in Cheraw and the surrounding area, there existed a "geeky community" yet, not very well connected.

The mind starts racing.. how can we create a cohesiveness among these tech centrics and give this "geek" community some momentum to sprout ideas, create resolves, share ideas, and begin this cool collaboration that who knows where it could lead.. and so, WooRaw is in motion. http://www.facebook.com/woorawYOU
