       CHERRYRPG PLOT                       here’s a letter.

it’s taken almost a month since coach vanessa garland disappeared into the night to replace her, but the school administration has finally stepped up to offer a new cheerleading coach: ms. jill wagner - an overeager 23 year old who just graduated from the university of alabama a mere six months ago.  in the hours after the announcement, the girls all trickle into the office to meet with their new coach, each of them getting a different impression - but most of them come to the same consensus: they would have been better off with letting holly wood lead them until garland came back.  the filling of the position brings about a new round of grief, as well. with the whole left by garland filled, it seems to make her disappearance more real, more final. when her spot was open, there was a chance she would come back. but now - there’s no telling if, or when, she’ll come back.  no one’s heard from her in a month. no one’s seen her in a month. but on the afternoon of november 7th, holly wood opens her locker to find a note:                      tell the girls i’m okay.                       i’m sorry for leaving.                             it’s better this way.  there’s no signature, no acknowledgement of who it’s from, but holly knows: garland somehow snuck in undetected to leave her a cryptic message, evidence by the wavy ‘y’ and the circle above her ‘i’s.  garland’s alive, but gone. and for the first time, the possibility that she really might not be returning weighs heavily on the girls. 

the arsons that took place the night of homecoming have gone marked under ‘unsolved’ in the police department, and there’ve been no signs of those who went missing that night either. all houses involved have been wrapped around with police tape over the past couple of weeks, and while whispers travel around town, that’s as far as they get. 

in the time since, two more families have gone missing: the brewer’s, with their daughter a freshman at the high school, and the castillo’s, who had no children. the only common thread between everyone who went missing is one thing: riverside community college. in every house, at least one of the adults worked or taught at the school, with the only exception being coach garland.

        CHERRYRPG PLOT                        burning up.

homecoming. every year, the week of homecoming is a celebration of the town of riverside, complete with parties and bonfires, parades and football games, culminating in the high school dance.  while this years feels tainted - coach brock dead, coach garland missing, the first major loss of the football season happening against their arch rivals just two days before - it doesn’t stop the kids from gathering at the school to spend a romantic evening under the fake stars reflected on the gymnasium ceiling. the lights are lowered, the streamers are hung, the punch is ( inevitably, as always ) spiked before being tossed out for a fresh batch.  for a couple hours, everything seems perfectly normal.  while the queen has disappeared with the runner up king, the king himself disappears with his own boyfriend. gigi king manages to distract mr. & mrs. crane long enough for logan norris and bradley crane to disappear, heading for the locker room where the music can still be heard and they can take a few moments for themselves.  but those moments don’t last long - mr. crane himself bursts into the locker room after a tip that his son is up to no good and catches his very own son in the act of embracing another man, the two kissing in a way that leaves little to the imagination of the intricacies of their relationship. while the good pastor grabs his son and takes him home, preaching about sinners in this town, logan has no choice but to let bradley go.  meanwhile, across town, knowing full well that the attention of the town is on the school and the activities inside, someone coats the inside of the abandoned jacobs’ house with gasoline, dousing the stairs and the front door extra to ensure they burn down fast. the match is lit, the fire is started, and they disappear into the darkness before the neighbors even realize something’s happened.  murder is one thing - understandable, unavoidable at some point. disappearances they can ignore. but arson - arson is deliberate, planned, timed.  now the town of riverside has to face facts: what happened in the community college to get it to burn down, and who, exactly, is behind all of this chaos? 

this information will come to light over the course of the evening; the outting of bradley crane and logan norris will naturally take place at the school dance, while the arson won’t really take note until students from the neighborhood realize they’re blocked off from their street. 

since the jacobs’ family has disappeared, there were no bodies in the house, though investigators will try and recover what they can in the coming days. questions about if the missing people: mr. and mrs. jacobs and their son, nate; dr. and mrs. stevens and their two small children, and coach garland - are involved in the fire in any capacity will circulate, but ultimately, they’ll find no proof of any presence in the house at the time of the fire. 

while no one who isn’t going out to check won’t know this, the guards from the community college, who’ve been watching while the campus is closed for the semester, have been discreetly fired and not replaced. the chains have been broken into, and someone has been inside - specifically, the science building where professor brock once taught. 

you are free to discuss the plot between characters on the dash starting now. please remember to be respectful and mindful of triggers - while this topic is definitely heavy, please remember that this is to grow our group and see how tragedy can affect individuals and groups of people.

                                                 homecoming week 2019

starting tuesday, october 15th the cops began to take notice of the disappearances, interviewing those that were in the lock in, close friends and family of those gone.  the cheer squad was questioned on coach garland’s disappearance. the football team on nate jacobs’.  those who use dr. stevens instead of dr. wood in town are questioned about his location.  but the truth is apparent to everyone: they’re doing their job, not because they want to, but because they’re required to. they have answers, already, answers the general population won’t be privy to.  more importantly, they definitely aren’t looking for anyone. which begs the question: where did the three families go? 

by wedensday, october 16th it seems as if the townsfolk have already forgotten. alumni who moved further away than the next few towns over stay at the local hotel, a quaint old home boasting all of ten rooms for the evening. the floats are sent down the street, the student body on top of them, with a few main exceptions.  the envelope in principal figgins hand says that the homecoming queen should be holly wood - his most responsible student, but one mysteriously absent herself. the runner up states gigi king, but her absence is less surprising.  instead, when it comes time to crown the king and queen, it’s merrick wood who’s called to the stage, next to her boyfriend logan norris - surprise etched on both their faces as the crowns are placed on their heads.  meanwhile, coach garland’s car is moved from the school parking lot, her house locked up, and a few personal belongings taken from her home. some swear they saw the familiar dark locks slipping into the woods that surround the town, saw her walking along the edge of the back roads next to the river, but no one can say for sure.  the only thing that’s known for sure: they’re still gone. and riverside has a new king & queen for homecoming 2019.

   CHERRYRPG PLOT                   SADIE HAWKINS.

A TIME HONORED TRADITION, every valentine’s day, riverside high school puts on its sadie hawkins dance. originally meant to flip the script, encouraging the girls to ask the boys in more and more elaborate ways, the sadie hawkins is a fun, carefree night where girls can dress up and guys can cut loose and everyone finds an excuse to party in the woods after the gym is closed down for the night.  posters have gone up all over the school, and nominations for sadie king’s court - the five men who’ll ‘fight’ for the honor of sadie hawkins king - will be open soon.  an informal dance for all grades, the gymnasium is dressed in hearts and the punch somehow always gets spiked, with parent chaperones sneaking their own flasks as they ‘watch’ over the students who use it as an excuse for a school sanctioned party.  it’s a time honored tradition dating back to the 50s, and just because the town is falling apart doesn’t mean principal figgins will let the tradition fail this year. 

the actual dance will take place on saturday, february 15th at 7pm EST in the gymnasium at riverside high school. it goes until 10pm. 

due to scheduling, this will not be an ‘event’ for the group, but is encouraged to be used for plots / paras / etc. for players !

a survey will go up in the next few days with our kings court nominees to vote for sadie king !

this will be a fun plot ! there is no ulterior motive for more ‘harsh’ events - this is supposed to be an excuse for characters to let loose a little, relax, and have fun !

    CHERRYRPG PLOT                    ALL OUR TIMES HAVE COME.

AFTER THE ARREST OF COACH WHITEHOUSE and the return of coach garland, it seems like all of riverside has put the past six months to rest. the town is ready to move on, pushing past the disturbing incident between the high school coaches, and chalk everything up to love gone wrong. vanessa garland, reinstated cheerleading coach, is now apologized to in the grocery store, applauded by the women of riverside who ‘always believed in her’, told that she’s an idol to their children and they’re grateful to her - much different talk than she was receiving only three months prior.  but while some are ready to ignore the rest of the disappearances in town, a select few are still investigating, even if it’s on their own. led by none other than the football teams frankie bartlett, a small group of ‘ private detectives ‘ as they called themselves tried to sneak into the college campus, to find former students and professors, to sneak into the houses of those who had left suddenly without a trace. it seemed like there were no answers to be found.  and then, on the night of sunday, january 12th, a breakthrough. merrick wood received a text while out with the squad that simply stated:                           i figured it out. i know what happened. call me !!!! she didn’t notice until hours later, and, exhausted, she fell asleep without reaching out to frankie.  by monday, january 13th, however, it’s too late.  frankie’s gone too.  after searching for him throughout the school building, calling his cell number only to find it disconnected, and even showing up to the house he shares with his mother - empty, deserted, just like the others - the case of the disappearing town seems a lot less funny than it did a few days ago.  because now, it’s one of them.  now, frankie’s disappeared. 

this will all be taking place between sunday, january 12th and monday, january 13th meaning players should begin discussing it tomorrow. 

since frankie is a playable character, when we get an application / accept a frankie bartlett, the player will be informed of necessary information / will signal the return of frankie and his mother. 

this will start the second ‘chapter’ of mystery, which will focus entirely on the community college and the disappearances happening around town.

     CHERRYRPG PLOT                     THE TRUTH COMES OUT.

in an unlikely turn of events, the riverside falcons have made it all the way to semi-finals, one game away from taking the state championships.  and once again, the town of riverside is flipped upside down. third quarter, the falcons are up 7 to 6 in a tight lead when the cops come up, charging the field and heading right for head coach casey whitehouse, reading him his rights and arresting him mid-game. the players don’t even realize what happens until their opponents, long time rivals calvary cardinals score on the falcons, the stands distracted by the arrival of not just riverside police, but state investigators as well. 

the game is forced to pressure on, but it’s obvious from that moment on: the team is tanked.  while the falcons are distracted, the cardinals score one, two, three more times, and in the end the falcons dream of another state championship is destroyed as armstrong tries in vain to keep them going. but already the rumor mill is swirling, the cheerleaders trying to cheer even as the tension in the stadium is unrivaled to anything they’ve ever seen before.  it’s the arrival of garland on the field that finally puts the pieces back into place, and garland who takes the girls back to her formally abandoned home to tell them the truth:   the afternoon at the brock house, there were four people present. coach brock and his wife, coach garland, and assistant coach whitehouse.  after a few too many beers ( and lines of coke, an addiction he’d kept hidden for months now ), the truth about an affair between whitehouse and dr. brock came out, loud and clear - with a fight, an argument, and dr. brock trying to come between her husband and her boyfriend. it was whitehouse who shoved her, pushing her away as he tried to get to brock, his boss and mentor, causing her to hit her head on the pavement. while garland tried to perform cpr, it was evident that nothing would help -  she was dead on impact.  whitehouse disappeared while brock called the cops, and garland stayed silent when they arrived, knowing how the scene looked without the fourth member present to their party. leaving with them willingly, she was prepared to tell them the truth - until the gun went off in an upstairs bedroom, a gun that belonged to whitehouse, not brock. while she was unsure at first whether it was suicide or murder, she kept her mouth shut - accidents happen, grief causes crazy reactions, and she could take whatever the town of riverside threw at her.  what she couldn’t take was the threatening of her own life, of her girls, of her safety - and when whitehouse got too aggressive, she did what she needed to and disappeared. but not without help - mayor whitney wood helped burrow her away at a home rented by her own older sister, trying to get her to come forward with the truth. but it took time, and it took trust, and finally -  the right man will go to jail for his actions.

this took place on wednesday, december 11th around 8pm EST. 

garland will be officially reinstated as head coach on thursday, december 12th, with wagner demoted to assistant coach after a lobby of complaints from the entire squad. 

the football season is officially over, after a drastic loss of 43-6 to their rivals, the calvary cardinals. 

whitehouse is officially in jail, refusing to speak and a public lawyer is being hired to defend him. the school will take some time to look into finding a new coach, keeping armstrong as the assistant for now.

             CHERRYRPG PLOT                            end of summer carnival.

all too soon, summer is coming to a close. the ‘local’ walmart ( a good half hour away, still ) has already put up all the backpacks and school supplies, the commercials on the endless television hours are advertising the ‘most wonderful time of the year’ for parents, and the football team is gearing up for it’s first match, now only a month and a half away. 

( and while everyone else was enjoying their summer, the riverside falcons have been preparing for a season to decimate and destroy the competition. ) 

the only good that comes from this is the annual end of summer carnival. hosted by the riverside high pta and the community college down the road, the weekend before school begins is known as the last big bash of the summer season. complete with rides and booths run by various student organizations, all proceeds go back into the school, helping fund dances and events throughout the year. 

this year, the girls will be hosting their very own kissing booth, while the guys will run a dunk tank - something everyone in town is excited for.  

the carnival will be august 9th, 10th, 11th - two weekends away - and will be located primarily in the community college’s parking lots. it will run from 5pm-12am on friday and saturday, and 2pm-9pm on sunday.

every student organization helps run a booth of some sort. 

for example, the cheer squad has a kissing booth ( get a kiss for only $1! proceeds go to transportation for this years national cheer competition in miami, fl! ) the football team will be running a dunk tank ( toss a ball at the target to sink a popular football player into the tank ! proceeds go to new uniforms for our boys in red ! ) the band will be running a concession stand full of snacks ( proceeds go to new instruments and sheet music ), the student council will run the ferris wheel ( proceeds go towards prom ), etc.! 

everyone will work in shifts so that they can both participate in the carnival and enjoy themselves. all students are required to work at least one shift of the carnival. 

the staff of the school will also be in attendance to help out and chaperone. 

on saturday, around 10pm, there will be a fireworks show at the high school ( approx. 2 miles from the community college ) for all attendees ( and anyone in town. )

this is largely one of the biggest events of the year - the entire population of riverside attends, as well as surrounding towns. 

almost every year, the schools biggest rivalry - the calvary cardinals -  tend to come and attempt to start a ‘prank’ war with the riverside falcons. 

last year, they swapped the cupcakes in the cake walk to their own full of laxatives, causing some serious issues with the portapotties. 

this event will be played at the players discretion - if you’re interested in having an actual ‘event discord’ chat for players to play things out, please let your admin team know so we can put that together! otherwise, you’re free to plan interactions and paras with your fellow players to play out yourselves. 

feel free to begin discussing the carnival as well on the dash, as it is common knowledge that the carnival is only two weeks away.

                                                                        CHERRYRPG PLOT                             wet hot american summer

summer.  everyone’s favorite time of year; where curfews are blatantly ignored, there’s a party every other day, the afternoons are full of hard work and sweat from football and cheer practice, and the mornings are lazy in the sunlight streaming from their windows.  now that july has hit, a whole month has gone past and there’s only a month left - which means time is of the essence. cheer camp has finished, all the girls cramped in too small cabins in the woods, and the boys are back from football camp on the opposite side of the state, which means everyone is restless, bored, and ready to have some real fun.  but while the summer air still feels lazy and calm, a storm is brewing that will hit everyone soon enough. the quiet life of their south western georgia town is about to come to a very drastic end - and the lives of 13 teenagers is about to change, for good. 

THE GAME IS OFFICIALLY OPEN FOR PLAY!!!! interactions of all kinds can now begin between players.

the girls spent the week of june 23-june 29th away at a cheer camp in florida, while the guys spent the same week at a football training camp up in virginia. this is a mandatory event every summer for the varsity team/squad, where cell reception is terrible and the bugs are even worse. upon return, they usually have a huge party to celebrate getting through it once again and hook up with those they haven’t seen in awhile. 

mon-thurs, the girls are at cheer practice from 11a-4p, and the guys are at football practice from 9a-3p. this is also non-negotiable, and it’s how the team remains one of the best in georgia. 

the cheer coach is coach garland, a late 20s former beauty queen / varsity cheerleader who went on to cheer at the university of alabama before becoming a teacher of health and sexuality at the high school level. she has been with the school for three years. 

the football coach is coach brock, a mid 30s former football super star who went on to play for the longhorns at university of texas: austin and had an unfortunate ankle injury that took him out of play when recruitment for the nfl came around. he’s been with the school for fifteen years, and was the coach who took them all the way to a national title. he also teaches gym.

some characters will have ‘secrets’ of a sort - if your character is one of them, remember to build it into your characterization without giving things away, even ooc!
