reasons why I think Freddie Trumper is queer and trans

this is mainly based on chevival Freddie but elements from other versions may be mentioned as well. Idk what this is but I just have thoughts.

-I want to preface this by saying that I don’t think Freddie and Florence should be dating or if they are it should be Very Weird. If you use the concept lyrics for the press conference, Freddie seems insulted that they would even suggest that he and Florence were together. They seem very toxic co-dependent weird friendship to me. But anyways, I feel like if not gay, then Freddie is at least a queer person with a complicated attraction to women. Now, this could just be bad acting on Aaron’s part, but I kinda read it as intentional, when Freddie is trying to “get Florence back” in the 2nd act, all of what he says seems really empty when it’s supposed to be a “romantic line”. Like, obv he’s doing this for like the interview stuff or whatever (I actually don’t remember so please ignore this part) but I just feel like Freddie doesn’t feel that way about Florence in the way that he’s “supposed to”. I imagine he’d be upset because Florence is his (pretty much only) friend, and not because of romantic reasons at all. Idk. Maybe it’s cause he doesn’t feel attracted to women omgggg. Just a thought.

-iirc neurodivergent people have a much higher likelihood to identify as transgender.

-“I was a fool and probably queer” line. bro. This feels very “I’m probably nonbinary but I have a job rn so idc about that”

-pity the child also just drips with trans subtext. As someone who grew up in a similar situation, I just very much read it through a trans lens I guess.

-Freddie turning up the asshole for the cameras (even though he’s still an asshole irl) is kinda young trans man of him because before you work through that shit, you think that to be masculine you have to be an absolute prick or smth. I think he would do that.
