By now, you might have noticed that two pieces of the same class can be vastly different sizes. This isn't a drawing error, I promise. So, how can there by rooks of different sizes? The answer to this lies in Leveling.

Amazing drawing of Tawny in Tomato Heaven done by http://enviousjam.deviantart.com/! Go look at all the other art this incredible person has done!
Well,
Well, I think I’ve been neglecting my tumblr for a bit too long. Time to finish the theme and get the ball rolling on this.
that chess comic
Wow, Okay.
SO. I didn't think I'd get such an answer from just posting this comic online.
First, a big thank you to everybody who reblogged/tweeted/wrote about it somewhere. I'm glad you felt something reading it!
Thanks a lot, also, new followers :) Hi, I guess? I'm Fanou, I mostly draw band people and dumb comics. I'm in animation school and I rant about that a lot, too, sorry.
I've read often now that the cursive I used is difficult to read for some people, and for that I'm sorry. In my country, cursive is what we use in letters, and that's pretty much the only font I can manage to draw properly. My first drafts were all capitalized and they looked so awful I switched back to my usual writing style. I will put a transcript online in a few minutes for those who can't read, I just had no idea it would be this challenging (every french person who read it never said a word about the writing, it didn't even cross my mind)
I've also seen comments (on my blog, even, woa) made about my "willpower" and how I was "overreacting". To these people, I'd like to answer that : I'm a very aggressive player on the board, and probably in life as well. I quit because I was abused, and that was the end for me. I hope you realize that there's still a problem when most girls decide to stop playing around 15/16 when boys just keep on doing fine.
I'd probably still be playing in a club like last year if I hadn't gone to a new school that doesn't allow me to have hobbies, heh.
I won't address comments like these any further, because I know the language barrier will trick me at one point or another and I have troubles expressing myself properly.
Oh, and, originally, this post wasn't even supposed to go online, but thanks to Léni & Val's endless cheering I decided to woman up and post it. SO thank you guys as well <3
