what once had been

OKAY SO OMFG IM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS PIECE!! this is art of my mbs AU, the Mysterious Contraire Society; specifically kate! since she's milligan's role, i had to give her something horrific in her backstory... so here she is!

essentially, the four kids (reynie, sticky, kate, and constance) had figured out about mr. curtain on their own and infiltrated the institute without the benefit of the adults back home. they were found out, and as they were fleeing the institute, one girl never made it home. she was caught by mr. curtain, and the last her friends saw of her, she was being dragged towards the whispering gallery, fighting like a cornered animal. the last thing she remembered before it all went dark is a boy screaming her name...

so uh. now she's been retrained as Katie the helper. fun times for all. she eventually busts out and finds constance, but she's just generally miserable rn

spent literally 45mins yesterday sifting trough my deck, slowly picking out what cards i could do for day 4, and the winner of the bunch was page of cups (:

got really inspired by the little fish in the cup and the groovy hat and i imagine her as a waterbender now
