Daily reminder if you are a chest binder wearer to clean it when you are able too!! Aswell as taking it off after several hours and especially before bed!
I just violently cleaned mine twice last night since I haven't worn it in about a year and I was never able to properly clean it aside from a simple wash. Mine was a hand me down from some former friends (that are no longer in my life) because I was never able to buy one myself and they had multiple. But they were also smokers and I don't know how long it went without a cleanse and I never wore it because it felt icky and greasy everytime I wore it, so I've just been binderless for about a year and a half because it felt so gross I couldn't keep wearing it without feeling uncomfortable. I suggest dawn dish soap to get all the murky shit out! I did two washes with it until it was clear water. I suggest fabric soap/softener aswell. But do the dawn dish soap first, which I wish I did instead of inter changing it and doing the fabric soap/softener last so it'd smell better (regardless my binder smells better now lmao) and feel better overall if that's more your style etc. If you are closeted or have unsupportive parents you are living with I suggest washing it when they're asleep and/or out of the house for errands and/or work. Be safe! Happy binding! You deserve to feel like you, comfy and safe!
Remember to hand wash it! Don't put it in the washing machine or dryer, it may shrink!
