[Chester sighed, as he looked at his chest.]
...
[He then proceeded to look at his hands, just staring at em'.]
... Today was rough but.. I'm still here. Which is.. good. (:`
I wonder if Jame's doin okay.. he seemed pretty upset after these.. events.
[Chester then let out a small sniffle, clearing his throat.]
Welp, maybe tommorow will be a better day!
I don't really have a super inspiring story, but for the last 4 years, I've dealt with severe seasonal depression, and have had severe anxiety and PTSD since I was 8.
These last few years have felt like an utter waste - I've been depressed, unemployed, barely a part-time student, and I can't really name anything I've actually accomplished. I was telling my girlfriend as much a few weeks ago, and she looked at me and said "but you know what you have done that's amazing?"
"what?" I asked.
"you've really honed your pottery skills," she told me.
I had to think about it, because that's not a tangible accomplishment that capitalism values. In the last 3 years, I've thrown myself into this new, unfamiliar medium and it's kept me afloat through hard times.
Even when I lose sight of my own value, and worth, even when I lose sight of my passion for painting, I could work at ceramics and see improvement and worth with each vessel I made. She really reminded me that my art is valid, and I am valuable even when I'm at a low.
I think that's the amazing thing about @eliciadonze, that even when others wrongly beat her down, she holds onto the worth of who she is and what she does. It's inspiring. Each time I see her work, it reminds me that our value is not derived from how others perceive our usefullness or our niceness or our skills.
Our value exists because we exist, and our art can have meaning even when others (in my case, me) don't see it.
Tl;dr: My girlfriend reminded me that others see value in my artwork, but Elicia reminded me it's just as important to find that value for myself.

if NRS didn't want me to pirate mk11 & download a 100% save file to play dress-up with the fighters like they're barbies. then maybe they shouldn't have added in so many customization options for me to play barbies with the kombatants.
