Okay I can’t for the life of me find that one post explaining how in Warhammer (something i know Fuck All about btw), the magic of orcs works based on what they believe is true. If they think a disfunctional contraption is gonna work or that those berries over there aren’t deadly poisonous, their innate magic will just. make it so??
In my take, Hamon kinda also works like that
Bc Hamon is just stupid random all-purpose magic that has No logic to what it can or cannot do unless you Make Up Some for yourself and then it only gets more confusing when you read fanfic where ppl Also make up ideas for What Else It Can Do along the lines of the logic they personally came up with, it’s a Mess

I think it’s just like. raw energy that you gotta learn how to harness properly, and okay yeah there are limitations, it’s not nearly as all-encompassing as the orc example - but a lot of rules are there bc you Think they are. If you know sufficient Hamon and are convinced you can do this Specific Thing with it? If you can find a good enough reasoning for why Hamon should be able to do that?

It also gets real funny when you consider that Caesar’s approach to being a Hamon Warrior Prodigy Thing is “there are Rules” and Joseph’s is “NO THERE AREN’T”. They’re both great at Hamon in Very different directions, with Caesar using his knowledge and discipline and Joseph mostly just relying on his unbeatable bulshitting abilities
