Books of 2014
The Tragedy of Hoffman by Henry Chettle
And may I just begin by saying that this play was, indeed, a tragedy.
Read it: Like February or March 2014 for school
Grade: D+
Highlight: The first scene, I think it was? Our class talked about how the first scene by itself was a better revenge tragedy than the entire play together. Maybe it was the first act...but I believe it was just the first scene.
Fatal Flaw:
"I shall stab you with my sword. My sword is coming to stab you. My sword has stabbed you."
"You have just stabbed me with your sword." --basically every exchange in Hoffman
(Side note: I found these exchanges so hilarious that it was also a small highlight in the play, for me.)
