Inspired by Polish folk dresses.... But I may have gotten the details wrong, sorry... I really just wanted to draw Chetwyn in a pretty dress though, and I thought that the colour scheme fits perfectly with Sanguine Desire. I didn't put in the rib bones even though they look very cool, because I don't like it. I like the teeth though so I kept it in.

This Abnormality admittedly stumped me. It's tied with Pink Shoes, and the idea that you're being possessed to giving into your desires. I think it fairly made sense to give to Rodya and Chetwyn, as they have in the past fallen to temptations of short term relief to catatrosphic results. But I think the underlying motive that's being exploited here is the desire to temporarily shut out everyone else. "It's my shoes and I deserve to wear it", to justify the mistake you made. It's erasing everything about you, defining you only by its will to inflict more violence and cause bloodshed. You merely wanted a pretty pair of shoes, and you were so willing to put it on that you didn't care of what was going to happen.
It's designated O, meaning it's probably a physical object in the City, that has wills of its own. There's not really a moral of the story here, the shoes are just evil, don't wear them.
Bwah. I haven't even drawn the abnormality yet, getting straight into EGO NOW!! This is Chetwyn's seasonal EGO, based on Solovey-Razboynik (eng title on wiki is Nightingale the Robber).

The story itself is very interesting, Solovey is a half bird half man creature, that whenever it whistles, people drop dead in mass, earning it the rightful placement of ALEPH. The only one to survive its song is Ilya Muromets, a folk hero, who shot an arrow through its eye and brought it back to Vladimir, the prince of Kiev. The prince wished to hear Solovey sing, but it claimed to be too wounded to sing. After giving it some wine, Solovey whistled, and brought death to the entire castle. In the end, Ilya had taken it out into a field and beheaded it.
This abnormality represents a kind of helplessness to cause destruction and death, despite its beauty. The only person who can stand to be near it is also the one who has to put it down. Still, it desires to live, so it tricked the prince while knowing it would condemn everyone to die if it sang. Is it self defense? Perhaps it was, when the prince could have kept it in a cage forever for his amusement. That's why I feel like the EGO name is double sided, like the butterfly I depict it as.
Design wise, I wanted to keep the nightingale parts for Shou, who also resonates with this Abnormality. Why this butterfly in particular? It's identified as Azerbaijani blue (Polyommatus aserbeidschanus). I looked up Russian butterflies and found them with the article that quoted "...when the scientists looked at them under a microscope, it became clear that they had 46 chromosomes – a very unusual number for this group of the blue butterflies and exactly the same count as in humans."
LIKE ??? A butterfly that has the same chromosomes as humans? That sound so oddly fucked up. And it's so pretty to boot. One side is azure blue while the other is mint and gold... I decided that it has to represent the dualism of this abnormality. Also the flower that grows on the tree is based on the astralagus species, which their larvae are known to feed on.
I made an alternate version where red butterflies are swarming him.... I broke my hand drawing this but it didn't look good to me so I scrapped it. That's life....... The butterfly here is Aglais Io. It took so much precision to get right... But I fear that's why it's a huge distraction.
Maybe it helps to keep it minimal. The butterflies here represents Ilya Muromets, another ALEPH Abnormality to pair with this. It will go to Ermine and Huin, representing their conflicted emotions as they slay these monsters in their way.
This was supposed to be a quick morning doodle. I ended up taking a whole day just to draw Dulcinea's outfit. Then I thought might as well colour it in greyscale, then use gradient map to fill in the colour.
I've had this idea way back when, and I only got the balls to draw it now. It was worth every minute. My mouth was agape just like Ermine's when I was drawing it. This too is yuri.

Baby Sirin resembles a newborn kitten, with a face still wet with tears from waking up. Sirin has always shown a fascination with music and sounds. She holds a little star shaped wand that jingles when it spins. Her class is 🐥, for she has endless curiosity for the sounds of the world.
Baby Chetwyn seems to have developed self awareness, even as a six year old. He shot a knowing glance at the you and rested his sword. The paintwork resembling ice cream won’t fool you of its lethality. When did he get such a close replica to his original weapon? He belongs to 🐘 class, as the “garden” calls for him.
Baby Yoru is stiff in awkwardness. He is holding onto a broom, just waiting for your permission to sweep up the classroom and organise it of misplaced toys. You will find him fidgeting with how much he needs to do, so please reassure him that it is your responsibility as the principal, not his. He belongs to 🐧 class, as he desires to overturn fate’s dictation.
Baby Othello has a fishing rod that she readies to use at any time. Even as you pointed out the lack of fish in our surroundings, she is certain she will be of help for you with that in hand. She belongs to class 🐘, as she originally served in the Smoke War.
Baby Fajie proudly shows off the yo-yo that her mother had just bought for her. She is always the most eager to do nothing in class and head home as soon as the day’s over. She belongs to class 🐧, truly representative of her flippant nature.
