Clash of Blue & Red | Hector & Seth
@chevalier-dargent
It wasn’t a surprise to anyone that Hector strongly disliked any type of meeting where he had to be on his best behavior. Unable to challenge anyone to a match if they got on his nerves and being forced to leave his beloved Armads back at Castle Ostia was something that just filled him with agitation. He knew that it was his job now to lead Ostia to its future, but he also understood that he was never going to be the man that his brother Uther was. He didn’t have the same patience and mannerisms that his brother had. Even though he grew a lot during his journey with Eliwood, he was still nowhere near as sophisticated as the Pheraen was.
Hector was still rather young and still had to learn a lot about what it meant to be a Marquess, but he was thankful that he still had his dear and old friend right by his side any time he needed him. However, just because he was slowly learning what it was like to be responsible and trying to get a better control on his impulsivity, didn’t mean that he didn’t still act brash and do or say whatever he felt like. He was working trying to be mindful of the fact that his actions effected more then just him now and that Ostia couldn’t be without someone to guide them if he decided to go off on another adventure just on a whim, but it was still a work in progress.
At the moment he was currently glaring around a lavishly decorated room, wishing that he wouldn’t have told Eliwood that he was invited to this stupid, boring meeting as well. He could have been back at home, training with his axe and trying to avoid some of the boring responsibilities that he had until he was forced into his study to work on it. Instead, he was stuck being surrounded by a mixture of generals and other high-ranking nobles from various other areas. He wasn’t even sure what the meeting was about to begin with, but he knew that the moment he stepped through the doors he was already ready to leave.
He felt his fingers twitch at his sides as he heard another ear grating laugh that was far to fake and well timed to be real. He knew that he looked like a social outcast, standing in a corner by himself, sporting a rather menacing face but he couldn’t find it in himself to care at the moment, even though he knew he should. These people were all individuals he knew that he was going to have to interact with again and that he should at least try to pretend and play nice with, but he wasn’t one to trade niceties just because he was supposed to.
He hated having to pretend that he was friends with everyone when he knew that there was only *one* person he was truly friends with. These people wouldn’t have his back the same way that Eliwood did and he was sure that he wouldn’t be able to trust a single one of them to come to his aid if he needed it. He huffed to himself, muttering angrily under his breath as he scanned the room once more, silently hoping that Eliwood would finish socializing with some other nobles and save him some reprieve from this hellish meeting, but that didn’t seem like it was going to be the case.
“Guess I’ll have to find some way to entertain myself that doesn’t involve getting into a fight.” He grumbled to himself as he started making his way towards a table that was filled with food. “Hopefully there’s something here that I’ll actually be able to eat.”
