Zero III was first to speak.

“Hmm… I guess they could use either if they tried hard enough. Never really considered that.”

The bun stood up on its podium, looking over at Yuki. After a bit, they looked up at the big Zero.

“What do you think, Hunk of Junk?”

He decides who to free and who to blame | Chapter 4 | Trial Start

You pushed open the doors to the trial room, unsure of just what to expect this time. What would be in store for you here, dealing with a stern, angry Zero?

Well, that was unexpected. The room around you was packed to the brim with sweets. In the center of your podiums, in fact, stood a massive multi-tiered hologram of a cake. In fact, given the decorations, you might even conclude it is a, well... wedding cake...

At the top of the cake sat two figures, the bride and groom...

Natacha and Theo.

“Euch. Disgusting. Who picked out this theme? I hate it. And get that stupid cake out of here.”

“If they’re lucky, maybe the great bun in the sky will marry ‘em or somethin’.”

A brief smile vanished quickly, as Zero’s attention turned to the arriving students. You were barely at your podiums before he spoke again.

“Now. Get going. You’re here to figure out who killed Umeko Toujou, not attend some dumb wedding. You know the rules. Start talking...”

Looks like Grumpy Zero was here to stay.

Kazumi stepped across the room, up to Zero III. She paused for a moment, fists clenched, then spoke. "What do you have against us trying to stay alive? Wouldn't you do the exact same god damned thing?!" She exclaimed, before pointing at him. "Stop trying to pretend you're better than us, If you were in our position, you wouldn't be rambling about any of that bullshit about how trying to live is pointless, or how our emotions get the better of us. Hell, you've already been letting your emotions get the better of you with your obnoxious temper tantrums and complete disregard for the lives and feelings of anyone else!" She was on the verge of crying at this point. "I understand that you don't have any choice but to do this, but... all of your excessive cruelty is pointless. I still want you to live, and escape this place. To get the chance to become happier, and less bitter toward the world around you." She held out her hand.  "Trust me, I know what it's like to hate the world, and not see any point to their lives or my own. But I kept going for the kind, caring people out there who deserved help and comfort. You can still be kind hearted about the way you handle this if you want to, and I'll die right here with you!"

Ken looked over to Kohris and sighed, before inputting a vote for himself as Musume's killer.
