BU B B A gIVE ME A H U G
One would think that after spending so many years in the company of his boisterous older brother, loud and sudden noises wouldn’t phase Bubba anymore. IF ONLY. One minute he’s sitting there on their porch, enjoying the summer breeze and minding his own business - the next, Paul’s screaming into his ear at full volume and Bubba’s all but jumped out of his skin. One large hand presses over his heart and he curses himself for the fright, turning his head to fix Paul with a look that’s just about as stern as he can manage - which isn’t saying much. The twinge of annoyance only lasts for but a moment, however, before the larger shakes his head and sighs, opening his arms.
At least Paul means well. He can’t say that about most folks who sneak up on him.
