To add to questionable decisions, the kid in the Moogle Suit (Mog) is supposed to be an actual Moogle, but they didn't want to go through the effort of scaling the Keyblade to a Moogle. Why they didn't just reuse assets from the Moogle of Glory Sidequest, I'll never know. It's especially baffling because his character arc seems to be based on the fact that he's the only Moogle in a human-dominated business. It's, bizarre.
To be fair that’s on the Japanese end not the dubbing end (I think I’ve played that mission in Japanese but not English and I never bothered to look up a translated video because I need some reason to do the story in the English version). But it makes me question everything I thought I knew about moogles.
Honestly they should have gone with something like he’s half moogle (don’t think about it) or he was raised by moogles and thinks he a moogle but isn’t actually. Or he just really wants to be a moogle so he adopts that persona.
I don’t really know how you expect your audience that a kid dressed as a moogle is a moogle with out some form of explanation.
