.....you know harambe has nothing to do with the song and in italy basically no one knows about it, right?

Okay yeah, Harambe has nothing to do with the song but I’m still going to resent the fact that because of the song - or more specifically the decision to have a guy in a gorilla suit on stage - I’ll be seeing even more mentions of something that I already see mentioned too often. 

And while I’m sure it’s not as widely known in Italy as it is online I definitely don’t believe that “basically no one” knows about it - it was/is a meme, on the internet, in a time where most people in most European countries have access to the internet and social media. It may not be known in Italy but it’s known to Italian people, just like I know about it as a Swedish person - I probably won’t hear it mentioned in daily life here but I see it online all the time.   

Basically I just highly doubt that no one at any point ever pointed out to them that having a dancing gorilla on stage was clearly going to bring out the Harambe memes and suggested maybe not doing that. Or that they would have ditched the gorilla shtick if they DID know about it because ESC runs on memes these days (actually it may have invented memes?), and while I’m usually all about that this one particular memes needs to just go away forever.

Saying this again: Sara and Michele are not being whitewashed, they are Italian. Italians are white. They are just tan. ^^'

actually they have olive skin. italians arent all white and in fact were originally Not white at all and are actually apart of a minority group and the only known name for it is a racial slur.
