I think Chias are actually Mandrakes that were harvested incorrectly and instead of being extracted correctly from the ground-they wandered off after they screamed so hard the people trying to collect them got ear bleed and laid on the ground crying for 3-4 business hours. This factor explains why the Chia is the only species known for Vegtable/Fruit based Dimorphism in their colouration as opposed to any other species. In this video ted talk essay-

ahh, the chia... here’s my top 10 favorite chia colorations, and top 5 pre-conversion chias

Mutant- The Mutant Chia is the Chia I find to be the least conceptually upsetting- giving it more features helps it, I find. Also I just like the colors

Asparagus- The only fruit Chia to not have the REALLY bad copy pasted face that almost every converted Chia has!! This helps it immensely.

Marble- I like all of the Chias with mohawks, and this one is really nicely done- its interesting to me that most Marble pets have no hope of looking like actual marbles, so they just sort of look like glass sculptures. I’m not complaining!

Toy- I like this Chia too, it also has a mohawk, and its blue and yellow. The battery case is a nice touch, it has an almost Mr. Potato Head vibe to it. If it was bigger, I could believe that this Chia could store alternate plastic hair styles in there.

Stealthy- I appreciate the sincere amount of effort that went into dressing this Chia, even if it doesn’t quite succeed at looking cool. I just sort of end up finding this one funny. They’re in there!!!! heehee

Pineapple- This color is interesting, because it has almost no visible shading going on- I like how one of the pineapple spike marking things is right in the middle of the face, creating a sort of nose. I find this one legitimately endearing.

Onion- I’m not sure why I didn’t put this one higher when I made this list 3 weeks ago, but I should of, because this is clearly the best Chia coloration

Jelly- if you ask me, they really dropped the ball not making this thing blue and faceless and a reference to the site character, the Jelly Chia. That being said, I do appreciate the bright fuchsia color, and while the reflections don’t look entirely accurate, they do look striking and like effort went into them.

Ice- Ice is here because I appreciate that the face is different from the default Chia face

Baby- I don’t know why but I can’t hate this thing. it is what it is

I’m actually a big fan of the Halloween Chia, I think its a fun little witch, and the old art is nice

i thought that this was just the yellow chia, with some circle tool ovals thrown on top, but ash pointed out that the shading on the hair and feet is ACTUALLY slightly different between the two colors. this tiny, meaningless difference that someone took the time to do is almost worse than if they had literally just thrown black circles onto it. i don’t understand. i can’t understand
