Mr. Becile, I have a passion for science, especially theoretical physics (thanks to my sixth grafe science teacher and a field trip to NASA with the other gifted students in the area. It constantly makes me feel awe. I would love to pursue a career in it, but I have a problem. I'm a girl in a society where women are told to "get back in the kitchen," and I'm afraid that when I reach adulthood and want to be employed, I'll be brushed aside for a possibly less-qualified male. What do you think?

The truth is, I… I haven’t the slightest notion. I’m not an educator, I’ve no experience in that field. I mean, I was a diligent student at that age— Didn’t particularly get on with any of my classmates, but honestly the concept of dropping out never even occurred to me. It was never an option. And since I never particularly talked to my classmates, let alone those that ended up leaving… I don’t even have a primary resource to draw from.
