For those of you enraptured by the story of Henry IV and Gregory VII

The entire passage taken directly from my sleep-addled notes:

HRE (Holy Roman Emperor) for 50 years, began as boy, not very powerful, held hostage for a while. Shit's happening at the Vatican, HREs not keeping an eye on it. Reformers have positions in church, Greg is almost a Cluny. Henry comes of age, gathers a bit of power. Conflict: The investiture conflict. Greg says to Henry - you can't appoint bishops. WTF?! I totes can. Excommunicate Henry! Excommunicate Greg! Wait... Great for the dukes, people like the Pope! All monks in castle leave. Henry's shit just falls apart. Greg, can we talk? Reconcile. Snow, burlap sack, wait for 3 days, reconcile. Now peeps dislike pope. Complete 180. Eventually Henry goes to Rome and attacks pope. Wever. Appointed another Pope. Greg went south to fallies. Normans - still vikings. But Christian. Brings them to Rome, doesn't go so well. Dies an exile.

Alright I have a question. As a person who's ahd OCD for over 7 years I have to know: does anyone else DREAM about doing their compulsions when they cannot do their compulsion?Seriously takes the fun out of sleeping and leaves you waking up feeling anxious and cruddy.

Personally I have never experienced this, but I am sure some of our followers have. Followers, feel free to message in if you have experienced anything similar to this!

Perhaps they could have both fit, but he tried climbing on and it became off-balance and she fell as well as him. Besides, it was for cinematic drama. Perhaps in real life he would have tried harder. It makes you wonder what lengths those actually present went to in order to ensure their survival and the survival of their loved ones.

The old couple was so very sad. I should think if I knew death was certain and I were with my wife, I would want us to die locked in each other's arms like that. The mother and her children was also very touching. It would seem they went to sleep before the water came to them. I wonder if anything of the like actually happened. However, all of the raw emotion it supplied, knowing this was a real even that actually happened, I managed to stay dry-eyed. I am not so much of a crier during movies.

And this was much longer than I intended.

well yesterday was definitely interesting

first on the list was an allergic reaction. to what, I don't know. so we went to urgent care, I got two shots and some disgusting medication to take for a few days.

went back to chibishishou's house (where I was spending the night before moving up to college together) took a nap because Benadryl makes you sleepy. had some macaroni and cheese, the first thing I had eaten all day.

watched a very weird show about delivering pizza.... I don't know what was going on there.

finally headed up to college, a couple hours drive. grabbed the key, and spent about ten minutes trying to open the door to the building and too our apartment.

found out our apartment is freaking amazing and huge and we have an actual kitchen this year

got everything moved in, put a few things away then went to go shopping for food and other things we needed. since it was now about 21.00, and we were both starving, we elected to go make food before we carried everything in.

a quick meal of tacos and fruit, and then we spent until 2 am organizing things. we realized that we didn't have any shower curtain rings for our curtain, and we set the smoke alarm off twice for no recognizable reason.

so yeah, definitely interesting

for clarification, there is a keyboard with about 40 keys just sitting at the edge of my bed for lack of better place to put it

Literally came back to our apartment expecting to be alone for a day or so, and completely prepared to enjoy it, to find my annoying roommate never left and then 'cleaned' (which consists of throwing our stuff everywhere to get it out of her way). I literally looked through my movie collection and asked myself "What is the thing she hates the most that I could play the loudest just to annoy her?"

So I'm enjoying an unhealthy dose of Sherlock Holmes (the TV show from 1954) while cleaning.
