A delicious burger inspired by the flavors of a classic Chicago-style hot dog, complete with all the traditional toppings.
Ingredients: 1 pound ground beef. 4 burger buns. 4 beef hot dogs. 1 cup sliced pickles. 1 cup sliced tomatoes. 1/2 cup diced onions. 1/4 cup yellow mustard. 1/4 cup neon green relish. 4 sport peppers. 4 pickle spears. Celery salt to taste. Poppy seed buns optional.
Instructions: Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and form them into burger patties. Season with salt and pepper. Grill the burger patties to your desired level of doneness, typically 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare. While the burgers are grilling, grill the hot dogs until they're heated through and have grill marks, about 4 minutes. Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill. To assemble each Chicago Dog Burger: Place a burger patty on the bottom half of a bun. Top with a grilled hot dog. Add sliced pickles, sliced tomatoes, diced onions, and sport peppers. Drizzle with yellow mustard and neon green relish. Sprinkle with celery salt to taste. Optionally, use poppy seed buns for an authentic Chicago-style touch. Finish with a pickle spear and the top half of the bun. Serve hot and enjoy your Chicago Dog Burger!
